About the role
The Testing Services Project Manager is responsible for managing and monitoring all activities related to the exam development cycle for a variety of professional certification organizations and state regulatory bodies. The Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including content development, psychometrics, and publishing, to ensure development activities remain on-task, on schedule, within scope, and meet client expectations and deliverables. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple projects, demonstrating an ability to remain flexible as client requirements evolve or expand.
Key Responsibilities
Project Initiation and Planning
Establish, document, and manage creation of written statement of work. Review requirements and requested client specifications.
Assist with creation of cost estimates in response to new proposals or new client requests.
Define and prioritize project tasks. Develop project schedules and outline team deliverables. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project plan can be met.
Set up billing workflow for new projects. Forecast annual revenue projections.
Initiate response for existing client new scope requests and ensure follow-through.
Project Management
Manage end-to-end test development activities for designated client exams. Ensure testing services teams stay within scope, adhere to timelines, and meets all deliverables.
Act as focal point for project team, including meeting facilitation, problem resolution and first-tier escalation. Act as focal point for client queries, updates, or concerns related to exam development.
Identify and mitigate project risks and issues within planning stages and as they occur. Evaluate impact across cross-functional departments. Drive decision-making process to resolve issues in a timely matter.
Serve as key contact for personnel outside testing services, including business development, program management, and finance.
Coordinate work across multiple departments, collaborate with department managers to address project resource conflicts, and consult on issue resolution.
Prepare monthly billing and track against projections.
Communication and Relationship Management
Facilitate team meetings to discuss and review project status and concerns. Ensure the team follows best practice and keep team updated on changing situations or client queries.
Facilitate or participate in regular client meetings. Communicate with clients regularly to keep them apprised of ongoing progress or to reach optimal solutions to issues.
Communicate with internal stakeholders; provide progress updates; collaborate with department managers to resolve escalations or address resourcing conflicts, as needed.
Provide necessary guidance or support to project team members throughout the development cycle.
Identify and recommend changes for performance/process improvements.
What we are looking for:
The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, 2-3+ years of relevant experience in a project related role, proficiency in project management methods and scheduling software, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Additionally, this role may support other Project Managers on an as-needed basis.
Ability to work remotely.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $70,000 - $80,000 per annum.
