For this, we are looking for a driven and ambitious Marketing Growth Director who will help grow our digital marketing tactics across a wide variety of channels.

Role Overview

The Digital Marketing Director works closely with the business leadership at Mondly by Pearson to accelerate our market performance. You will drive the global marketing strategy for the mobile products and strategically partner with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement the digital marketing plans.

You will be a 360 digital marketing expert, deeply experienced in building a strong digital presence and performance marketing strategies across channels like web, social media, PPC, search, retargeting, and others. You will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing a team of senior marketeers and managers, covering the annual marketing budget for the Mondly by Pearson’s mobile products.

We are looking for in-depth knowledge of and experience in the use of new marketing technologies and in the development of effective and engaging digital marketing campaigns, as you will serve as a subject matter expert supporting other teams across the business in this regard.

High-Level Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual global marketing strategy and implementation:

  • Oversee the Mondly digital presence across channels and build effective strategies to increase our overall digital marketing results.

  • Deliver high-quality digital marketing strategies that will drive customer acquisition and retention, brand awareness, and engaged communities across all digital channels for the Mondly by Pearson products.

  • Set ambitious KPIs and drive growth in organic and paid reach, website and blog performance, conversion rates, user acquisition, community engagement, public appearance, and other strongly connected to the digital marketing strategy KPIs.

  • Bring insight-driven recommendations to the table to help design a marketing strategy that will drive business results for each marketing channel and market segment.

  • Build the annual digital marketing budget, forecast future results, and track spending.

  • Improve performance based on periodic reviews and data.

  • Monitor competitor activity and plans – respond accordingly balancing our own plans with raised customer expectations.

  • Lead a global digital marketing unit with 3 teams that bring stellar results for the Mondly by Pearson brand and products:

  • Build a winning digital marketing team that unites and grows our total portfolio with the capabilities we need to succeed, understanding digital channels, user behavior and CRM systems.

  • Share best practices to fuel one united marketing team.

  • Recruit, retain and develop top talent.

  • Provide inspirational, value-driven leadership to the team such that they develop and are confident and capable of execution

  • Provide direction, guidance and training to the team

  • Participate and champion a highly collaborative, customer-centric, data-driven culture that challenges norms with a bias to action

  • Be a strategic partner and work in unison with other departments and leadership to drive business performance:

  • Work in partnership with product, technology, and analytics teams across the business to develop strategies needed to achieve our goals.

  • Take ownership of the user acquisition, audience engagement and marketing pricing functions for the mobile Pearson products.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Significant experience in digital mobile marketing, with a strong record of accomplishment in regional/global markets

  • Experience with building a performance marketing engine across tracking, attribution, automation and optimization for web and mobile analytics

  • Wide experience developing successful digital marketing strategies for subscription-based software business models

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with web and mobile marketing analytics platforms like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Singular, Firebase, MMPs, etc.

  • First-class leadership skills; able to inspire and motivate teams around a continuously evolving agenda designed to delight our customers

  • Strong understanding of consumer and customer and what it will take to ensure they choose Mondly by Pearson

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to generate insights that inform investment decisions and marketing strategy

  • Experience developing and reporting on metrics and KPIs for digital marketing management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, plus ability to clearly articulate and express complex and sometimes technical ideas to a wide variety of people and groups at any level

  • Able to deal with ambiguity, competing priorities and a wide variety of cultures and local markets differences and be able to represent the company's interests externally (incl. governmental level),

  • Action-oriented with a “roll up your sleeves approach”

  • Evident fluency in English, being confident in speaking, reading and writing communication
