Digital Analytics Implementation Specialist

Pearson's Global Digital Channels and Experience team seeks a proficient Digital Analytics Implementation Specialist to join our dynamic agile analytics division within the Direct to Consumer and eCommerce team. As the chosen candidate, you will undertake the essential responsibility of maintaining and executing web analytics utilizing Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4.

We are searching for a technically inclined individual with a keen interest in coding, analytics, and analysis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive attributes along with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and uphold web tracking mechanisms utilizing Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4.

  • Offer support and guidance to partner teams regarding the maintenance and deployment of Google Tag Manager.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and data privacy regulations within Google Tag Manager configurations.

  • Monitor and rectify errors and glitches within the analytics infrastructure.

  • Oversee the upkeep of Google Analytics 4.

  • Collaborate with technical teams to outline server-side development tasks required for client-side analytics triggers.

  • Assist clients in utilizing GA4 analytics interfaces effectively.

  • Support with A/B testing across the unit

Key Competencies:

  • Analytics Implementation: Proficient in configuring and operating Google Analytics (preferably GA4) & Google Tag Manager. Hands-on experience in deploying and managing various analytics and tracking tags across diverse web platforms, with a comprehensive grasp of data interpretation.

  • Data Analysis: Competency in analysing data from multiple sources, with Google Analytics as the primary focus, demonstrating technical aptitude and the ability to derive insights and conclusions.

  • JavaScript: Proficiency in native JavaScript coding is essential. A candidate with a Software Engineering mindset complemented by implementation expertise would thrive in this role.

  • Web Technology: Familiarity with HTML and CSS, including an understanding of fundamental web principles such as accessibility, forms, iFrames, URL and domain structure, and differentiation between server-side and client-side coding.

  • Data: Well-versed in various data formats, including JSON, XML, and CSV.

Personal Attributes:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills facilitating collaboration for problem-solving and requirements gathering. Capable of educating and disseminating ideas among teams using tools like Jira or Confluence.

  • Time Management: Outstanding organizational skills enabling effective management of multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize tasks, adhere to deadlines, and make informed data-driven decisions.

  • Judgment and Problem-solving: Proactive problem solver with a naturally inquisitive and independent critical thinking approach, coupled with a creative and inventive mindset.

Desirable Skills:

  • Coding: Proficiency in other coding languages such as Python would be advantageous.

  • SQL: Experience working with SQL, particularly in GA data analysis.

  • Web Marketing: Familiarity with SEO, AdWords, Social Media tagging, and UTM parameters.

  • A/B Testing Experience: Exposure to tools like Google Optimize, VWO, or similar platforms.

  • Experience in participating in large-scale Technical Projects, utilizing Agile project management tools like Jira or Confluence.
