Workforce Skills Coach Engineering Operative in United Kingdom

Job Title: Apprenticeship – Coach Engineering Operative - Fitter

Join our dynamic team as an Apprenticeship Coach, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality training programs to develop Apprentices' knowledge, skills, and behaviors for their Engineering Operative pathway. Your mission is to guide Apprentices through their learning journey, conducting assessments, reviews, and completions in adherence to management-set standards. Your support will be instrumental in preparing Apprentices for the Gateway for Standards Apprentices and achieving the Apprenticeship Standard.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct robust initial assessments to identify the starting point of the Apprentice's journey.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to support the development of knowledge, skills, and behaviors.

  • Offer constructive feedback supporting Apprentices' progress in line with their Apprenticeship Standard.

  • Utilize technology effectively for efficient and engaging learning program delivery.

  • Arrange regular workplace visits to induct, observe, support, and progress Apprentices.

  • Conduct thorough Progress Reviews, ensuring accurate paperwork submission within agreed timescales.

  • Maintain accurate Apprentice records within MIS, e-portfolio, and online learning systems.

  • Foster positive relationships with Apprentices, line management, and colleagues.

  • Attend standardization and team meetings as required.

  • Identify, complete, and record annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.

Key Relationships:

  • Maintain effective working relationships with each Apprentice in your caseload.

  • Communicate effectively with your line manager, addressing issues proactively.

  • Maintain professional relationships with all Pearson TQ customers, promoting a positive image.

Training/Competencies:

  • Hold relevant training/teaching/Assessor/mentor qualification.

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and presentational skills.

  • Good IT skills and ability to work under own supervision.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Experienced mechanical fitter with a broader knowledge of the engineering trade.

  • Experience within Apprenticeship training and delivery.

  • Demonstrate effective Apprentice program management.

  • Utilize technology for effective and efficient delivery.

  • Work in a target-driven environment with a proven track record in achieving targets.

  • Good written skills for detailed feedback and target setting.

Desirable:

  • Proven coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Experience with Ofsted inspections.

  • Understanding of ESFA funding requirements.
