Pearson Associate Product Manager in Colombo, Sri Lanka

The Associate Product Manager (APM) plays a crucial role in executing the product roadmap and ensuring the successful delivery of product initiatives. This role involves collaborating closely with engineering teams, particularly those based in Sri Lanka, to translate strategic directions into actionable user stories and facilitate effective communication between cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Roadmap Execution: Assist in developing and executing the product roadmap in alignment with strategic objectives.

Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers to understand and prioritize strategic initiatives.

User Story Development: Elicit, document, and transform business requirements into detailed user stories for engineering teams.

Liaison Role: Serve as the primary point of contact between Product and Engineering teams, facilitating clear and effective communication to resolve questions and clarify requirements. Provide clear and detailed requirement clarifications to Engineering teams during the implementation phase.

Agile Participation: Actively participate in Scrum/Agile ceremonies, driving the team to achieve key product objectives and maintain alignment with business goals.

Acceptance Testing: Engage in acceptance testing, training, and implementation activities to ensure that final products meet business expectations and user needs.

Strategic Contribution: Contribute to strategic decision-making processes, including roadmap planning and release planning, to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent with Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience preferably with prior Business Analyst and Product Management experience.

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to facilitate interactive sessions with business and functional personnel.

Should be able to effectively communicate and liaise between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Knowledge and experience on Agile / Scrum practices is preferred

Possessing a professional certification would be an added advantage. (CSPO/ PMI-PBA/ CCBA)

Technical Familiarity: Familiarity with media platforms or similar technology products would be an added advantage

Preferred Skills

Proficiency in Agile methodologies.

Ability to navigate and resolve cross-cultural differences and facilitate clear communication between diverse teams.

Experience in translating high-level strategic objectives into actionable tasks for engineering teams.
