Senior Shipping CoSenior Shipping Coordinator in the Packaging department:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Train and develop teams
Assisting with the development of training materials and curricula
Participate in project kick-offs and post-project reviews
Provide leadership, direction, and training for assigned functions
Serve as primary contact for internal customers for information requests and problem solving
Monitor, prioritize, and report on production to ensure contractual requirements are met
Identify and recommend areas for improvement
Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures within functional area of department
Assist management in meeting with vendors to evaluate new technology and equipment
Directly supervise up to 60 full time and contingent employees
Monitoring performance and providing feedback
Work with the program team to review and revise project specifications
Perform all duties of lower classified personnel within the department
May perform work of higher classified positions for purpose of training and further development
Participate in daily departmental stretching program
Ensure teams are in compliance with all safety requirements
Apply concepts of continuous improvement and demonstrate core values and leadership principles
Physical Demands and Essential Functions
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push carts weighing 600 pounds, and move pallets weighing approx. 2000 pounds with a pallet jack
Tasks require repetitive motion
Must work overtime as required
Must work off-shifts as required
Must work in other processing areas as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience is required
An understanding of packaging and distribution is required
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of PCs required, primarily MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook is required
Demonstrates leadership, teamwork, and customer service skills required
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
Assign, prioritize, and schedule work for multiple teams of employees
Must be able to meet and maintain high quality standards
Creative problem-solving abilities required
Mechanical aptitude desired
Must be able ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
SCHEDULE and WORK SET UP:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00pm CT - shift could change outside hours (40 Hours/Week)
On-site required
The minimum full-time salary starts at $24.00 hourly pay rate.
