Corporate Strategy & Technology CMDB Discovery Admin in Bangalore, India

The ServiceNow Discovery Admin will be responsible for day-to-day Discovery administration, assisting the other support team members in general L2 platform support, participating in the agile development process for platform, minor development enhancements and defects, and general support for all areas related to Configuration Management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Primary technical effort is to managed and expand ServiceNow Discovery product which feeds the ServiceNow CMDB

  • Configuration and Setup: Configure and maintain the ServiceNow Discovery module according to the organization's requirements. This includes setting up MID Servers, discovery schedules, credentials, and patterns.

  • Discovery Schedule Management: Define and manage discovery schedules to ensure that the infrastructure and services are regularly scanned for changes and updates.

  • Data Collection and Population: Oversee the process of collecting data from various sources, such as network devices, servers, databases, and cloud resources, and populating the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) with accurate and up-to-date information.

  • Pattern Development: Develop and maintain discovery patterns to accurately identify and classify different types of devices, applications, and services within the IT infrastructure.

  • Credentials Management: Manage credentials required for discovery processes, ensuring that the appropriate permissions are granted and securely stored.

  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to discovery failures, incomplete or inaccurate data, and performance bottlenecks. Work with relevant teams to resolve these issues in a timely manner.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of discovery processes, configurations, patterns, and best practices for future reference and knowledge sharing.

  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that discovery processes comply with security policies and regulations. Implement necessary controls to protect sensitive information collected during the discovery process.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest features, enhancements, and best practices related to ServiceNow Discovery. Continuously evaluate and improve discovery processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy.

  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the performance of discovery processes and take proactive measures to optimize performance, scalability, and resource utilization.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience administering ServiceNow Discovery & Cloud Discovery

  • Familiarity with working in an Agile environment

  • Experience with Service Mapping, Software & Hardware Asset Management preferred.
