Pearson Academic Success Product Manager in Austin, Texas

As the Academic Success Product Manager , Classroom Solutions at Pearson, you will play a pivotal role on the Assessment Product team. This position emphasizes your deep expertise in teaching and learning best practices, formative assessment best practices, cross-disciplinary content knowledge, and proven experience in driving pedagogical change at scale in K-12 schools.

Your primary responsibility will be to guide the design, development, and implementation of educationally-sound classroom assessment tools and learning resources. This includes ensuring alignment with proven instructional strategies and contributing to the theory of action for Pearson’s classroom assessment suite, including an ability to communicate the value of assessment-for-learning as well as assessment-as-learning through product design. You will also provide thought leadership on how these tools integrate into balanced systems of assessments and influence teaching and learning outcomes. In collaboration with technology experts, a key responsibility of this role is the ability to provide academic guidance on how to responsibly, intentionally and effectively design and integrate artificial intelligence solutions to enhance the integration of assessment and learning.

Key Responsibilities :

Educational Pedagogy and Best Practices:

  • Serve as the pedagogical expert for classroom assessment products, offering guidance rooted in evidence-based teaching strategies.

  • Drive innovation and equity in formative assessment practices and instructional design to support diverse student populations and serve as a champion of K-12 educator needs across content areas.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all product features enhance student-centered learning and scalable instructional practices.

  • Bring delight to the student and teacher experience in the classroom assessment product through sound and engaging designs.

Cross-disciplinary Expertise and Implementation:

  • Provide guidance for creating classroom assessment content that supports educators in implementing curriculum-aligned formative assessment strategies as an integral part of the learning experience.

  • Oversee and be accountable for the on-time and high-quality development of assessment content and learning resources within the classroom assessment suite

  • Work across content areas to design tools and materials that are applicable for diverse educational settings, ensuring they are scalable and adaptable for various classroom environments.

  • Develop and deliver training materials to support districts and schools in strong implementation of assessment solutions.

  • Develop materials to support outreach to state and district leaders and educators to support commercialization as needed.

  • Deliver product demonstrations to support outreach to new schools, districts, and states

Collaboration and Product Development:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to shape and refine learning and assessment content assets, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy and customer needs.

  • Support the integration of content and pedagogical designs with technological solutions, ensuring seamless educator and student experiences.

  • Contribute to research studies evaluating the efficacy of formative assessment practices and instructional tools in achieving learning outcomes and enhancing student engagement.

Stakeholder and Market Focus:

  • Advocate for educators and students and their diverse needs through experience and by collecting and incorporating their feedback into continuous product improvements.

  • Align content designs and product strategies with academic content standards and market needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree or higher in education, curriculum design, or instructional leadership strongly preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in education (K-12 teaching, curriculum development, instructional coaching, or leadership).

  • Demonstrated expertise in pedagogical best practices that integrate assessment and learning and the successful implementation of system-wide instructional practices and development.
