The R&P Technical Services Manager will report to the Director, Systems and Tools in the Systems & Tools department of Pearson Rights & Permissions. Rights & Permissions is a global service for all Pearson businesses, developing policies and supporting best practices for the management and use of 3rd-party content across products and services.
The R&P Technical Services Manager (“TS Manager”) is a position in the Rights & Permissions Systems & Tools team. The R&P Systems & Tools group supports the development and maintenance of rights management and related systems through e.g., gathering business requirements, reviewing & prioritizing fixes & enhancements, performing control & audit functions including data governance, training and updating stakeholders & users, liaising with Technology and other key functions, organizing UAT, and preparing reports and analytics. The TS Manager is responsible for testing across all system functions and activities. The Manager is responsible for enhancement requirements gathering across all systems and tools used by Rights & Permissions. The TS Manager drives best testing practices, minimizes risk, supports business goals, and facilitates user experience working closely with and business stakeholders, and service vendors; Manages a team of two.
Works with S&T Project Manager, S&T Managers and colleagues, Rights Management Teams, Technology Partners, and External Vendor Partners:
Responsible for overseeing team of two direct reports, including overseeing work schedules and assignments, initiating recruitment and recommending hiring and other job actions, conducting performance reviews, promoting professional and career development, creating a safe, successful and supportive environment
Working in collaboration with Technology partners, TS Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating business testing (UAT) for the Rights Management System (IPM), Reporting (Tableau), and the Rights Integration Tool (Blueprint) on a monthly basis or as the schedule outlines.
In coordination with Technology partners responsible for Oracle pricing set up in production as part of updates/amendments to contracts
Working with the IP Management teams regarding details of new contract negotiations and/or amendments for details prior to setting up data in the Rights Management System.
Serves as a back-up to Communication, Lead to help issue system related communications when/as needed.
Escalates any system or testing issues, questions, or risks that are unable to be resolved, to the R&P Director in a timely and fully informed way.
Responsible for ensuring monthly testing cycles are completed to the business process and all necessary signoffs are on-hand from Director and VP, of Rights & Permissions before approval is given to Technology.
Responsible for overseeing all/any data cleansing activities as part of BAU or data migration activities are completed on time per schedule and will have appropriate stakeholder signoff.
Responsible for overseeing IPM production data set up is accurate and completed on time as part of enhancements in advance of each deployment.
Supports Rights Management teams and process, building and publishing Tableau queries including UAT as needed from data sets; ensuring Dashboards are operational and providing monthly/quarterly dashboard and KPI data.
Provides business review and evaluation of ad-hoc reporting requirements submitted from stakeholders prior to development.
Prepares monthly reports on schedule that reflect accurately the progress, issues, and risks of R&P across the business and projects.

The anticipated starting beginning salary for Colorado-based candidates expressing interest in this position is $100-$110K. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.

Degree educated or equivalent experience or qualifications relevant to the position
Project, Time management, and/or Agile certification preferred
At least four years spent working in a managerial or project management role
Experience managing teams
Experience working with Rights Management Systems or other relevant commercial enterprise
Fluent in Office applications, including Chrome, Tableau and Microsoft, spreadsheets and related programs
Fluent with creating table statics such as pivots for data analysis and metrics
Able to prioritize schedules
Confident and tenacious with strong attention to detail
Highly organized with excellent communication and presentation skills
Agile, and open to change
Self-driven, energetic, and able to meet tight deadlines
