The Middle East and Africa Operations team is accountable for the end to end delivery of all operational activities whether directly managed, internally provided or externally partnered with. This extends to Supply Chain, Customer Service and Support, Facilities Management and Procurement.
The Operations & Administrative Affairs Manager will lead and be responsible for day to day management for all operations activities in Turkey and also operational oversight of Supply Chain activities in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region working closely with supply chain and customer service teams in UK and in region to ensure smooth operations. This position provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the organisation with the objective of delivering efficient and effective Operations to the business.
Supply Chain management, including:
- Inventory Management, supply planning
- Warehouse Management and relationship management of 3PL partner
- Freight Management and Customs (Import & Export)
- Order Management and customer service (of circa 100 distribution partners)
- Demand Planning, working with regional/global S&OP team
- Design and continuous improvement relating to processes and procedures
Office/Facilities Management, including
- Property Lease Management
- Manage Travel Desk and Travel Management Partners
- Responsibility for local management of Health & Safety, aligned to Pearson’s global policies
- Office/facility risk assessments
- Procurement as it relates to Office Management
BCP Planning and Management
- Ownership of Incident & Crisis Management plan
- Ownership of Emergency Response plan
- Close interaction with Global Resilience and Risk team to manage local business risks to manage above two points
Fleet Car Management
- Management of lease agreements and arrangements
- Managing maintenance schedules
MENA Supply Chain
Oversight of activities relating to order fulfilment, including:
Oversight of key metrics
Interventions where there are deviations from plan or where issues arise
Working with UK and International Supply Chain Teams to ensure issues are escalated and managed appropriately
Regional Stakeholder management (Sales, Customer Services)
Stakeholder management (Sales, Marketing, Finance etc) including regular progress reporting
Escalation point where it comes to Local Operations
Issue ownership and resolution
Team management and training/development, setting of direction and managing deliverables
Essential skills and characteristics
Educated to degree level with a minimum of 5-10 years of Supply Chain/Logistics/Operations management experience within a multinational company in the consumer goods/retail/publishing fields.
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community maintaining highest quality of communication both written and verbal.
Ability to effectively present information to all audiences including senior management
Ability to work with and interpret data operational data to draw valid conclusions, forecast and intervene where necessary.
Fluency of English and Turkish essential.
Desirable skills and characteristics
Ability to implement and lead change initiatives / Project Management Experience.
Experience of working across the Middle East and North Africa Regions as well as Turkey
