Pearson Associate Lead Software Quality Engineering in Sri Lanka

The Performance Test Lead is responsible for providing end to end performance testing leadership for the Web Application/s which he owns.

The Lead is responsible for designing and developing the performance test strategy and ensuring quality development of automated performance test suites.

And he/she will be involved with reviewing the test plan, strategy, ensure the test coverage, reviewing the performance test artifacts, organizing the team members to ensure the test objectives are met prior to production deployment, troubleshooting performance issues, root cause analysis, present the test results to the stake holders/leadership and following up the issues to get an appropriate resolution

Provide end to end automated performance test solutions for the web applications within the assigned domain.

Experience of developing performance test scripts with HP VuGen, JMeter and design tests in LRE/LoadRunner or JMeter.

Experience on Distributed Load Testing/ Geo Based Test executions.

Draft performance test artifacts, including test strategy, test plans and test summaries.

Assess and ensure team members design, create and maintain performance test scripts in lower env and production env.

Exposure on Shift-left and Shift-right performance test activities.

Experience of reviewing the quality and the coverage of performance test scripts and tests.

Maintain Test Repositories & Artifacts accurately and with expected quality in industry recognized platforms such as Bitbucket, GitLab, etc.

Develop workload models.

Work with team members to define/enhance processes and strategies associated with performance testing.

Ability of troubleshooting the performance issues with the collaboration of architecture, development teams/support teams.

Works closely with product teams, and other supporting teams (DB, Network etc), QA test leads to establish performance testing scope, timelines and effort.

Mentoring the team members to build up a process oriented, technical savvy performance engineering team.

Skills & Expertise:

Experience with NFRs and derive performance test requirements.

Experience in performance testing the web-based applications.

Experience in different types of performance tests (Ex - Load, Stress, Endurance etc).

Experience /understanding the Shift-left, Shift-right tests.

Experience in test results monitoring/different test metrices, results analysis, trend analysis, reporting, presenting the results.

Good exposure in defect management.

A thorough experience with Software Engineering and Quality Engineering methodologies, principles & solution architectures.

A good understanding of the latest Network, Cloud technologies & breakthroughs.

Familiarity with Test Management tools such as HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), JIRA...etc

Technology Skills

Performance testing tools (Must have - LoadRunner, JMeter ).

Distributed load test.

Performance monitoring tools (NewRelic, Dynatrace, AppDynamic).

Jenkins, Git, defect tracking tools.

Automated performance test generation.

Workload profiling.

Hands-on experience working with microservices.

Soft Skills

Good communication skills.

Understand business requirements.

Coordinate between various teams (DBAs/ Support Teams/ Dev Teams).

Documentation skills.

Presentation skills.

Quick learner.

Qualifications & Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent qualification

Minimum 1 year experience in Performance Engineering lead role or 6+ years of experience in Performance Engineering.

ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (Preferred)
