Job Summary:
The Senior Territory Manager - Digital will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to promote Pearson's digital products and services across educational institutions, corporate clients, and individual learners within the assigned territories. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in digital sales and a solid understanding of the higher education sector, alongside the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve growth targets and drive digital adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Sales Strategy & Execution:
Design and implement sales strategies to accelerate the adoption of Pearson's digital products and services across institutions in the assigned territories.
SELF: Take ownership of the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing, focusing on securing high-value opportunities and accounts.
TEAM: Collaborate with the sales team to manage inbound leads, build a strong sales pipeline, and target key prospects for new business opportunities.
Relationship Management & Business Development:
Establish and nurture relationships with decision-makers at educational institutions, government bodies, and other organizations to drive digital product sales.
Maintain regular communication with existing clients to ensure satisfaction, renewals, and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities for Pearson’s digital products.
Gather key market insights regarding fund-based procurements for e-library solutions and participate in relevant library meetings to generate business.
Represent Pearson at industry events, webinars, and conferences to expand your professional network and enhance the company’s presence in the digital learning space.
Sales Performance & Reporting:
Achieve and exceed sales targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for digital products within the assigned territory.
Regularly report on sales performance, providing actionable insights, forecasts, and recommendations for optimizing sales strategies.
Monitor market trends and competitor offerings to continuously refine Pearson’s digital sales approach, ensuring the company's products remain competitive.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with product management and content teams to provide customer feedback, suggest enhancements, and stay informed about product developments.
Work closely with the customer success team to ensure smooth onboarding and continued support for digital customers.
Partner with the marketing team to ensure alignment of sales and marketing strategies, campaign execution, and content development.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or MBA is preferred.
5+ years of experience in digital sales, sales management, or business development, ideally within the education or technology sectors.
A deep understanding of the higher education market is a significant advantage.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and successfully managing a digital sales pipeline.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong digital literacy, with a deep understanding of digital education tools, platforms, and technologies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to identify customer pain points and craft tailored solutions that address their needs.
Strong analytical abilities, with experience in using data to drive decisions and improve sales effectiveness.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently while contributing to a team environment.
Other Requirements:
Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings, industry events, and other business opportunities.
Fluent in English, Telugu, and/or other regional languages is an added advantage.
