Corporate Finance ERP Data Migration Project Manager in India

About the Position:

The Data Migration Project Manager will be responsible for the execution of Data Migration activities, ensuring the seamless transition of key data, including Product, Customer and Supplier data, from existing systems/ERPs to Oracle. The role will involve working with cross-functional teams in a Global Programme (across various locations - mainly UK, US, India and Europe) to plan and deliver the required outcomes. Key to this role is your ability to build relationships across teams, establish governance structures and controls. There is also an expectation of reporting into senior stakeholders and the ability to produce reports and status updates for this audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Technology and Data SMEs to define and execute all aspects of the Migration Plan required to move critical data from one set of systems to Oracle

  • Act as a bridge between the Business Teams and Technology/Data SMEs to ensure efficient data migration and on time delivery

  • Along with the Technology Lead, coordinate, chair and manage Data calls with the business unit in scope for system migration

  • Ensure the business understands the data structure and are therefore able to review and understand data extract reports generated, which will include observations (such as missing attributes, or data against the wrong field)

  • Liaise with the Business Project Manager to coordinate data cleansing/fixes in the legacy system as well as identify data enhancement opportunities for the next extract cycle

  • Coordinate the Data Validation cycles, ensuring the business review and sign off Data Validation Reports in line with the schedule

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate project progress, and address any challenges that may arise during the migration process

  • Support business and technology teams to identify and document any gaps required to bridge the as-is and to-be models

  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

  • Establish governance structures

  • Deliver appropriate and effective communication to senior stakeholders and sponsors

  • Manage the dependencies between workstreams

  • Managing risks to the project's successful outcome.

  • Utilise industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

About You:

  • Interpretation of key system data (e.g. Product/Supplier/Customer) and ERPs such as Oracle/SAP or any other major systems

  • 2-5 years’ of multiple Data Migration assignments for complex global organisations

  • A recognised project or programme management qualification (ChPP, APM PPQ, PMQ, or MSP) would be an added advantage

  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and programme teams, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

  • Good business acumen and understanding of organisational issues and challenges.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to adapt style to be successful with all stakeholders incl senior leaders

  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills

  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Tools: MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Smartsheets, Tableau
