Pearson Deputy Manager-Rights/Permissions in India

Primary Responsibilities includes managing the assigned publishing list ensuring rights compliance for improvement and efficiencies, increasing business engagement and working towards enabling content reuse and supporting our D2C strategy. The Role will also support any special projects as required and any new Rights and Permissions business strategy goals.
Key Responsibilities: -
Working with FL R&P Manager to work on rights clearances for US Higher Education products. Tasks include but not limited to CP creation, Pre-Assessment/Assessment, Sweeps etc
Monitoring/troubleshooting Status reports
Meeting with BU on project specific issues as required
Working on coordinating timely Escalations, and raising/tracking progress on issues, if any
Working with the vendors to successfully complete the assigned projects within budget and assigned milestones
Working with our preferred R&P vendors, managing all aspects of research, licensing and permissioning third-party assets from planning through to final delivery.
The Role will also support any special projects as required and any new Rights and Permissions business strategy goals.
Works closely with internal and external stakeholders
Expert in systems scope/functionality, rights strategies and goals, and familiar with project objectives as well as the roles and processes that impact rights, to optimize permission work for efficiency, outcomes, and quality.
Ensures all rights management milestones are fulfilled for projects over the entire content development/production workflow (initiate, plan, execute, control, close)
Develops and oversees project schedules and budgets.
Manages assets clearance as required. Negotiates where necessary with rights holders to obtain required rights to essential content
Works on the project lifecycle from inception to closure which includes Content Plan creation, Image research, Text assessment and clearances, Invoice processing and final QC before closeout
Manages QA measures, including audit of tasks/procedures and project/rights records, to achieve optimal performance and data integrity
Brings a can-do attitude that is solutions focused to work outside the box to present ideas on how current ways of working can be improved and how operational problems can be resolved.
Is a team player that can evangelize the services of R&P as a proactive business partner
Qualifications:-
Bachelor's Degree with a min of 4-6 years job experience
Prior knowledge of Rights and Permissions preferred
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills based on collecting and analyzing available, relevant, and reliable information, learning who to ask for opinions and input, and acting upon the analysis in a timely and effective manner
Strong leadership skills, including developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex programs with interrelated asset and timing dependencies
Takes initiative and leads change
Tech-savvy with an interest in learning new rights management systems and gaining expertise
Basic knowledge of office applications, particularly Microsoft
