The Content Standard AssociateTechnical Project Manageris a rolecritical to the evolution of Pearson from a publishingorganization to a digital courseware solutions provider.

The Associate Technical ProjectManagerwill work closely with the Senior Technical ProjectmanagersandManagersacross Content Standards team in theassessment and documentation of thecapabilitiesandfunctionality of a variety of tools we use in the workflow; QuAD (QuestionAuthoringandDelivery), Elm (next-generationassessment and interactiveauthoringtool),SiteBuilder,andtheMyLabs and Masteringtools.This work enablestheeditorial, content development,production,andDigitalStudio teams to createworld-classdigitalcontent at scale,andoffers our customersunparalleled stability. TheAssociateTechnicalProjectManagerwill also focusonensuring that operationalefficiencies are maintainedasteamsmigrate to Bronte and CITE tools from legacycontent-buildingsystems,andthat issues with thetools are prioritizedcorrectly across HigherEducationand are addressedquickly. He or shewill also assistwith any requiredcommunicationaroundupdates to or maintenance of thetool,andoverallcompliance toestablishedprotocolsnecessary for eachoutput(MyLab and Mastering,Pearson+eText,andRevel) areunderstoodby the disciplineteams.

The Associate Technical ProjectManagerwill assist in coordinatingandcommunicating issues,documentingaffected titles, andensuringpriorities are understoodandcommunicatedtotherelevantproductteams.Theywill also assist as neededwith User AcceptanceTesting(UAT) andpresentations/trainingforinternal teams andvendors.He or shewill also managethecommunication of anychangesonreported issues to thedisciplineteam(s),managecommunicationbetweendisciplineteam members and theTechnologyProduct teams, andwill assist inescalating any critical global issueswith tools capabilities totheDirector,StandardizedCapabilities and Tools for appropriate mitigation andexecutiveescalation.

The Associate Technical ProjectManagerworkscloselywiththe Digital Studio/MediaProducersworkingonthe Bronte and CITE tools and has accountability for theappropriate use of thesetoolsandoutputof aproperlyexecuted and codedcontent by

ensuringproductionteamsfollowtheapprovedprocessesandguidelines. He or shewill assist in thetraining andmaintenance of processdocumentation.

Due to the fluid nature of the work related to CITE tools, it must be understoodthattheday-to-dayfunctions of this position may change,depending on priorityneeds and platformstate.

Assignment Scope

  • Functions as a keystakeholder,both within Pearson andexternal to theorganization(vendors,authorsandcustomers), for QuADmaintenanceanddevelopmentthatsupportscapabilitiesneeded in Higher Ed disciplines.

  • Assignments are high complexity in nature

  • Actively updateSWOTdocumentationandPearsonU training forCITEauthoringtools

  • Createhow-totrainingvideosforvendors and internal teams

  • Help lead segments of live trainings

  • Cull the contentteams’feedback/enhancementrequests for the CITE authoringtools andgatherthem in centrallocation

  • Perform UAT for the CITE authoringtools—Cypress, QuAD, Elm,LearningAppsauthoringtools)

  • Help prepareslides for presentationssuch as CITE showcase

  • Provide additional resources forothergeographies, like CanadaandAustralia, as thoseteams ramp up CITE work

  • Reports to theSupervisor,ContentDevelopmentKey AttributesandTheirApplication

Job Duties

Planning: Helpsonboardteamstoapproved processes andguidelinesrelatedtodevelopment courses Bronte and CITE and interactives in QuADand Elm. Collaborates with digital contentteamstoensurecontent is being developed in themoststable,efficientmanner using theproper tools. Anticipatesandadjusts for problemsandroadblocks.Measuresperformanceagainstgoals,evaluatesresults.

Riskidentificationand mitigation: Serves as a point of escalationforDigitalStudio/mediaproductionteams to resolve issues. Communicates new processes. Ensuresquestions or issues are addressedquickly.

Problemsolving:Interactswithdecisionmakers/stakeholderstoresolve conflicts betweenproduct,technologyand business teams with variousaspects of issuesresolution.Makesandimplementsdecisionscompatible with organizationaland business goals.Definesissues/needsthoroughlyandaccurately.Analyzesimpact of decisionsbeforeexecutingthem.
