Pearson Supervisor Project Management in Hong Kong

The Project Management Specialist provides project management support for all digital and print projects in specific product groups


Project management

  • Responsible for overall project management through the production process

  • Strategic resource and workload planning and management

  • Create budgets and resources plans for projects using internal Project Support resources, local and global vendors

  • Gather project requirements, perform analysis, provide specification and prepare project brief to external vendors

  • Responsible for outsourcing and vendor contacts, including preparation of agreements and processing of payments

  • Create and manage project schedules with agreed tracking systems

  • Provide effective communications and prepare progress reports for the project team leads or management

  • Monitor project financial status and controls

  • Proactively manage all potential project issues / risks, and develop effective resolutions.

  • Ensure all products are developed and delivered in agreed formats/industrial standards and in good quality

  • Review and maintain an improving project workflow and high quality production workforce with clear documentation

  • Champion for new tools and processes, coordinate with global and local teams as well as organize necessary training to ensure smooth and effective application

Supervisory responsibilities :

  • Manage in-house Project Management & Support team in all phases of print & digital content production, monitoring quality and deadlines

  • For direct reports, give regular performance feedback and mentoring; conduct formal performance reviews as required

Requirements: Background/experience

  • Degree holder in IT or related disciplines.

  • 5 years or above solid experience in project management

  • Experience in print and digital educational products is a definite advantage

  • Good communication, interpersonal, negotiation and organization skills

  • Self-motivated, detailed-oriented and able to manage multiple projects under tight timeline

  • A team player and able to work independently with good problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in written & spoken English and Chinese
