Pearson Sales Consultant, Clinical - International in United Kingdom

The * Sales Consultant (Clinical - International)* has the primary responsibility of driving sales in their territory. Sales Consultants are looked to as thought leaders within the broad Clinical Assessment organisation. Sales Consultants are well versed in the Clinical Assessment product offerings, beyond basic features and benefits, as they work closely with customers to determine optimal solutions to meet customer needs.

Sales Consultants will use their professional knowledge of the market, gained from extensive formal education and/or field experiences, to identify and sell solutions that address the problems that customers are trying to solve (i.e., provide intervention/treatment through accurate diagnosis and intervention).

Sales Consultants are laser-focused on business development and providing consultation to customers to promote a successful customer experience that leads to new business growth.

Sales Consultants are expected to deliver pre-sales consultation support in assigned sales territory to help guide customers through the decision-making process. The primary goal for a Sales Consultants is to help the Clinical Assessment division achieve quota by expanding and uncovering new sales opportunities, providing content- and practice-based consultation, and support to customers at multiple points in their journey with Pearson Clinical Assessment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve revenue goals by consulting with international customers, particularly within the Middle East and Africa regions, to identify and deliver tailored assessment products, training, and licensing solutions.

  • Conduct prospecting and outreach to generate and nurture new sales opportunities, utilising a remote-first approach.

  • Develop and execute strategic territory sales plans, leveraging knowledge of cultural, linguistic, and institutional needs in the Middle East and Africa.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional clients, including healthcare providers, educational institutions, and government agencies.

  • Facilitate customer consultations virtually and occasionally in person, delivering product demonstrations and comprehensive solutions.

  • Represent the company at key international events, conferences, and customer meetings, including occasional travel to the Middle East and Africa for high-priority engagements.

  • Stay informed on market trends, regional needs, and the competitive landscape in the international assessments sector.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Management, and internal teams to ensure alignment with global and regional goals.

  • Utilise Arabic language proficiency to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders where applicable.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record of sales success, particularly in international or remote sales environments.

  • Demonstrated experience in prospecting, building, and expanding relationships with institutional clients in a multi-regional context.

  • Fluent in Arabic and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

  • Proficient in virtual selling techniques and tools, with experience conducting customer consultations and product demonstrations remotely.

  • Knowledge or experience in the Middle East and Africa markets, including cultural and institutional nuances that impact sales strategy.

  • Forward-thinking, with a strategic focus on digital and technology-driven sales (e.g., online assessments, iPad-based solutions).

  • Strong business development and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex sales processes involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with a virtual team.

  • Preferred: Background in assessment, psychometrics, or related fields.

Travel

The position requires a willingness to travel up to 30% of the time. The position also requires that the individual be comfortable in a relatively independent working environment, with primary contact with team members being virtual.
