Pearson Corporate and Key Account Manager- Spain & Portugal in Spain

Position Purpose

  • Working hand by hand with the Institutional Sales Manager, to accelerate our market performance by defining targets, strategies and go to market activities.

  • Contributing to the success of Pearson – supporting the ELL Vertical in accelerating regional business performance and driving regional growth for Corporations, Chains of Private Language Schools, Tertiary Institutions and Governments across Spain and Portugal.

  • Taking responsibility for leading, coaching and developing a team of three direct reports of Corporate & Key Account Executives.

  • Achieving maximum sales & market share growth of Assessment, digital products and Mondly and any other products within the ELL portfolio in liaison with ELL Sales Consultants

  • Looking for adequate partners in the educational sector who will help us to bring and developed new opportunities.

  • Evaluating the market to identify and go after new revenue streams and sector opportunities.

  • Every day striving to put the consumer/customer at the heart of everything we do.

  • Being a sales expert and partnering with our regional marketing organisation.

  • Dealing with ambiguity, competing priorities, and managing market demands

Key Accountabilities

Team Management

  • Building a winning sales team that unites and grows ELL business with the capabilities we need to succeed.

  • Leading by example, demonstrating great behaviours every day, building challenging but friendly and inclusive environment.

  • Empower and lead the team to meet their targets, ensure that coaching and development is focused on a commercial mindset, customer centricity, excellent performance, maximised effectiveness, and values-based attitude.

  • Being responsible for keeping your expenditures within budget limits.

Sales Oriented

  • Regular reporting around sales activities, opportunities, forecasts and pipeline.

  • Achieving maximum sales & market share growth of Pearson ELL Courseware, Assessment and Corporate portfolio through your own sales calls conducted at institutional level, B2B and B2B2C.

  • Delivering annual targets.

  • Seek out for business partners and engage with network groups, educational associations, corporations and institutions.

  • Updating the database regularly.

  • Supporting sales with the provision of information/expertise relating to Pearson’s portfolio and capabilities.

  • Ability to analyze business in a broader / long-term perspective (anticipating educational trends and institutions

  • Cooperating with our distributors and third parties.

  • Monitoring competition activities throughout your region.

Client Focus

  • Support new and existing customers to ensure potential for new and ongoing business

  • Facilitate customer-based product trials to maximise new sales potential.

  • Demonstrate technology products and services.

  • Grow share-of-wallet in key accounts.

  • Supporting customers by answering clients’ emails and telephones, providing them with information and helping solve their enquiries.

  • Contributing to overall perception of Pearson as a key player and partner of choice in the marketplace.

  • Acquire a thorough knowledge and understanding of Pearson’s portfolio and key products, services, and capabilities.

  • Bringing feedback from the field concerning Pearson products and services.

Liaison with other teams

  • Supporting marketing activities throughout your region including various events, conferences and exhibitions as well as delivering presentations to customers on your own, both face-to-face and on-line.

  • Being active in Social-Media by sharing marketing posts, and recommending Pearson products, being involved in other Social Media Activities (e.g., live sessions, live chats).

  • Supporting and liaising with the existing stakeholder network, including Social-Media.

Personal Style and Behaviour

  • Degree or equivalent

  • Proven experience in similar positions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills in English language

  • Business orientation and focus with the ability to see things from the stakeholder’s position.

  • Experienced negotiator with proven track record in delivering sustainable revenue growth for company and customers.

  • Evidence of strategic and tactical/consultative sales planning.

  • Excellent communication skills, good manners.

  • Good presentation skills and confidence to present to a diverse range of people.

  • Financial acumen.

  • Determined to succeed in a competitive environment.

  • Reliable, entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated; transformational.

  • Extensive experience in lead generation and driving growth in new markets.

  • Demonstrable and a proven track record in implementing strategic sales plans to drive sales growth and achieve sales targets.

  • Confident using CRM, ERP and other relevant sales and operations platforms.

  • Highly organised and disciplined, keeping deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel
