Agile Transformation Lead
A trusted advisor to the leadership team to produce clarity around the Transformation strategy and its execution, to maximize employee adoption.
Description
At Pearson, we’re committed to a world that’s always learning and to our talented team who makes it all possible. From bringing lectures vividly to life to turning textbooks into laptop lessons, we are always re-examining the way people learn best, whether it’s one child in our own backyard or an education community across the globe. We are bold thinkers and standout innovators who motivate each other to explore new frontiers in an environment that supports and inspires us to always be better. By pushing the boundaries of technology — and each other to surpass these boundaries — we create seeds of learning that become the catalyst for the world’s innovations, personal and global, large and small.
Job Purpose:
This is a 1-year project to help develop the transformation strategy and the execution plans thereof.
You will co-create the transformation strategy and the vision plan of our 2023 Transformational Sales initiative (Cygnus program), by bringing together the needs and ensuring consistency of the specific goals of the different program pillars (People, Processes & Technology). This will be done by understanding the pillars’ needs, to understand current state and desired state. The goal of this role is to deliver a feasible yet challenging transformation strategy that enables the Cygnus program to meet the overall goal of an efficient globalized organization and the specific goals of each pillar.
Main responsibilities:
This person will be fundamental in co-creating with the leadership team a vision and mission of the program that consistently encompasses all the workstreams (considering that each pillar has its own timeline and diverse priorities and challenges) and will then partner with the stakeholders to produce a cohesive transformation strategy.
You will provide consultancy to the management team on agile and change principles to ensure that the pillars’ execution plans are aligned among each other and all head towards the same vision, and that the change management & communication plans to employees are cohesive among the three pillars.
You will support executive meetings with the regional sales stakeholders to share the Cygnus vision and specific goals.
You will partner with the Program Manager to follow up on the pillars’ progress in relation to the transformation strategy, so you can voice any deviations that endanger the transformation strategy and the vision of the program.
You should possess extensive experience in agile transformations and change management and should have the ability to influence senior stakeholders towards a common effort that enables the maximization of employee adoption of the Cygnus program. Most of your responsibilities will be reliant on coaching the pillars’ leads on agile and transformational methodologies; however, you will be directly responsible for incorporating agile and change principles into the Cygnus strategy.
Key Accountabilities
Collaborating with management to gather and analyze strategic information to develop a transformation strategy.
Coaching and consulting with the pillars’ leads, for them to incorporate the transformation principles into their execution plans and establish key milestones.
Providing the documentation and input necessary to understand and apply agile and change principles into the execution of the program.
Partnering with the Program Manager to ensure there’s a consistent transformation narrative and journey among the three pillars.
Partnering with stakeholders to create communication and change plans to enable smooth deployment of the strategy among employees.
Tracking progress and analyzing it against the transformation strategy, to identify deviations that endanger the execution of the program and reporting back to management.
Qualifications
Essential skills, qualifications and experience:
Agile practitioner with +5 years of experience in agile projects and programs.
Have lived at least 1 global transformational project, preferably one where globalization was part of the scope of change.
