Pearson has an exciting, short-term contract opportunity for a Production Manager to work with the Custom Publishing team, to manage the production process for specific titles from receipt of customer requirements through to print and delivery, ensuring timeliness and editorial quality are achieved.

As the successful candidate, you will use your keen eye for detail, your ability to calmly plan, problem solve and prioritise a large volume of projects at one time in a dynamic environment.

You will set high standards of performance for yourself as you proof-read, edit and collate customer corrections.

Ultimately, you will be a strong contributor to team success and use your exceptional time management skills to manage projects, whilst tracking the progress of all projects effectively to manage conflicting deadlines.

Your outstanding communication skills and ability to convey information clearly will ensure you are able to maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation.


  • Project management and editorial experience (mandatory)

  • Understanding of unique publishing deadlines (mandatory)

  • Familiarity with manuscript editing processes (preferable)

  • Technological proficiency - working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Professional (mandatory)

  • Custom publishing experience (preferable)

  • Experience within educational publishing (preferable)

  • Tertiary qualifications (preferably in publishing) (preferable)
