We are seeking an experienced senior engineering manager that will grow and lead our innovative technology platform engineering team. You will have a well-honed balance of technical, process and people skills plus the demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams. This role will work alongside the local leadership team.
You will lead and manage the platform engineering team on a day to day basis, with a focus on continually improving the team’s software engineering and delivery function by:
enhancing our engineering capabilities and team culture
working closely with product and project teams in an agile environment in order to ensure engineering meets overall team goals
managing, leading, coaching and mentoring members of the engineering teams
driving best practices, thinking and philosophy across all engineering team members
growing the team to 20 engineers in the upcoming months
integrating remote resources (or teams) and external developers as needed
amplifying our team culture of taking initiative, delivering open and honest communication, being curious and a constant learner.
Tertiary qualifications in Technology (mandatory)
5 years hands-on, software engineering background
Experience in leading, managing and growing engineering teams of 10
Previous experience driving software engineering strategy
Hands on experience with various aspects of people leadership including; performance management, mentoring and coaching
Experienced with iterative / Agile software development as well as more traditional methodologies
Agile Certifications (highly regarded)
Exposure to large scale, web-based SaaS systems development (highly regarded).
