Pearson AI Psychometric Researcher in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Pearson is seeking a research scientist versed in psychometrics to support its automated scoring business. This position will provide thought leadership and customer support for multiple types of assessments and testing programs. The position includes the opportunity to direct and conduct applied research in support of automated scoring.
Designs, applies, and maintains processes related to automated scoring
Advises customers on the implementation of automated scoring
Represents Pearson through conference presentations, technical papers, and other scholarly work
Aids in providing technical solutions and writing proposals to acquire business
Qualifications Education and Work Experience
Doctoral degree in educational measurement or a related field from a nationally recognized institution of higher education
At least five years of relevant job experience
Preference given to candidates with experience in automated scoring
Communication Skills, Technical Presentations, and Client Contact
Has strong communication skills (oral, written, and business) to function effectively in a leadership role with internal and external clients
Ability to tailor technical presentations to different audiences (e.g., client groups or technical advisory committees)
Familiarity with Psychometric Techniques and Software Development Processes
Ability to effectively apply and design solutions in psychometric techniques to new and unique operational testing settings.
Ability to consult across unique testing programs and situations
Practical experience working with software development teams
The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $120-130k. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
