As a Project Manager for Global Product and Technology at Pearson, is a key role to the evolution of Pearson from a publishing organization to a digital courseware solutions provider.

The role will involve driving cross-functional teams comprised of team members from UX design, engineering, quality, product management, etc. from ideation to successful deployment to our customers. These projects have very tight and overlapping schedules to deliver key technology, features and services. The position requires engagement with all levels within the business --as a facilitator and champion-- to plan, organize, track and communicate. This position requires an energetic, experienced self-starter with a history of successful projects and demonstration of an increased level of responsibility. Key to this role is to be proactive, organized and analytical, while using strong communication skills to interact with a variety of people. Planning, scheduling, communicating clearly, and data-driven status monitoring, will ensure completion of the project on schedule and within constraints of quality, schedule, and budgets.
Understand and assess critical paths and dependencies for delivering applications and services to our customers.
Facilitate discussions among project teams, design, product management and engineering.
Establish key milestones, plans and schedules to drive the accomplishment execution in timely manner.
Understand and coordinate the sequencing of tasks to accomplish progress.
Aggregate, organize, and synthesize project information to clearly communicate with extended team and management.
Listen to internal customers to understand their scenarios and challenges.
Establish and maintain personal and organizational credibility with partners through deep delivery knowledge and effective communications.
Define, collect and measure the success of the project through relevant metrics and KPIs.
Ensure the project is properly scoped and resourced, and that team members are engaged and informed of key responsibilities.
Regularly track project performance and identify areas for improved efficiency.
Partner with the working team to identify risks/opportunities proactively and surface recommendations and learnings.
Prepare and present milestone reviews with input from project teams.

3 years of project management and leadership experience with the ability to challenge and influence a variety of stakeholders.
Experience working in high-growth, fast-paces, and performance-focused environments.
Experience in managing indirect teams to achieve common goals.
Ability to work autonomously.
Attention to detail.
Experience with change management
Experience in project management on large-scale software development projects with teams working in multiple world-wide locations.
Experience leading teams using Agile frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, and XP, as well as other established project management principles and practices.
Ability to adopt and adapt the right project management framework for a given project and proactively identify and execute process improvements as needed.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong emotional intelligence skills, and the ability to adapt content, detail, and approach to match the audience.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - able to work on complex problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
