Pearson Senior Web Developer in Raleigh, North Carolina

We are looking for an experienced web developer to join our team. You’ll play a key role in designing and building the systems that are used by our staff and students. This position is remote eligible.

As a Senior Web Developer you will

  • Develop and support web applications that connect our business systems together

  • Integrate 3rd party services via their APIs

  • Extract and transform data for reporting purposes

  • Participate in the development and implementation phases of projects to integrate appropriate applications.

  • Perform code review with team members.

  • Develop close working relationships with members of teams within the organization

  • Interface with other groups to develop and implement solutions.

Qualifications

  • · 3+ years’ experience with several of the following technologies:

  • Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Express.js, JSON, Javascript, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Docker

  • 3+ years’ experience delivering projects to production and supporting the

  • Experience mentoring junior developers

  • Experience with several of the following technologies:

  • Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Express.js, JSON, Javascript, PHP, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Docker

  • Experience with publish/subscribe patterns

  • Experience building RESTful JSON APIs

  • Experience with a software version-control system such as Git

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab

  • Experience with microservices architecture, refactoring, design patterns, test-driven development

  • Experience with data schema design, migration, and transformation

  • Experience with accessibility and security compliance
