This position provides the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research in a highly-collaborative environment that feels more like a startup than a big company. You will help accelerate the delivery of data-driven products and services by designing and building the QA processes for pipelines, machine learning workflows, tools and services used by data scientists to train and deploy models. You will contribute to developing products that have an impact on millions of learners around the globe.

This position requires a broad set of quality assurance skills and some knowledge of machine learning. Ideally, you should have experience working with various types of ML algorithms. However, we also welcome candidates with limited or no ML experience who can demonstrate strong QA skills, a knack for creative problem solving, and a drive for relentless improvement.


  • Implement and introduce a QA framework and processes to ensure that our R&D process and the resulting business products (as well as internal pipelines and systems) are of the highest quality

  • Build and maintain a QA product lifecycle: scoping, test case creation and maintenance, automation and execution of integration / end-to-end tests

  • Manage (report, verify, communicate, escalate) bugs and issues

  • Create test scenarios and representative (test) datasets

  • Identify needs and build test environments

  • Support in building CI/CD pipelines

  • Participate in building and monitoring system requirements

  • Participate in building performance tests

  • Share your work results internally and externally (e.g. talks at conferences and meetups)



  • Software QA methodologies, tools and processes

  • Object-Oriented Programming/Design

  • Knowledge of Python (preferably) or another programming language

  • Automated testing tools

  • TDD / BDD

  • CI/CD tools (eg. Jenkins, Gitlab CI)

  • Performance testing tools (eg. JMeter, Gatling, NewRelic)

  • Git

  • Experience with working in a diverse, remote, asynchronous team

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English


  • Programming tools (debuggers, sniffers, profilers)

  • Experience with machine learning
