Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with members of project team to create plan to complete all content development tasks; contract editorial freelancers as needed; supply them with comprehensive writing briefs, content templates, and templates for art and media briefs

  • Manage, train, and support in-house team of content developers

  • Review quality of in-house and freelanced work; give feedback to writers and editors on any recurring issues related to content creation

  • Forecast content development costs to feed into the budgeting process

  • Create writing and developement schedule for all phases of content creation

  • Provide support to editorial freelancers in the use of content creation tools (standard and proprietary)

  • Keep content development briefing documents updated throughout the content development process and consistently communicate changes to project team, writers and editors

  • Review and understand the approved instructional design, syllabus, course configuration, content map, budget, and schedule

  • Work with Senior Content Development Manager, Portfolio Manager, and Content Producer to plan and execute short- and long-term resourcing and training needs

Qualifications

  • University/College degree in linguistics, foreign language, or related field or qualification in teaching English as a second/foreign language (Certificate or Diploma in TEFL or TESOL)

  • At least 4 years teaching and/or editorial experience in ELT

  • Experience in content development of digital products

  • Experience in leading editorial projects a plus

  • Experience using content management systems, learning management systems, and structured authoring tools a plus

  • Experience in managing in-house staff as well as freelance writers and editors

  • Experience in Primary content a plus

  • Soft skills necessary to manage diverse teams

  • Ability to navigate a complex international organization effectively

  • Possesses sound business acumen; remains pragmatic, calm under pressure; results-focused

  • Leadership, mentoring and coaching experience is essential—proven ability in managing change

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
