Pearson HR Business Partner in Paris, France

Main accountabilities

  • Work with HR team to maintain a strong HR culture in line with Pearson’s HR strategy eg: Performance Management, Annual Incentive Programs etc.

  • Work across Pearson HR team support functions – operations, Centres of Expertise and other HRBPs in order to deliver the best and most responsive HR service to the business.

  • Input to CoE Talent for annual planning of activities for Recruiting, Talent, Learning and Development in order to deliver on the expectations of the business area, making sure that the right people, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time, to deliver the required business results.

  • Work with CoE Reward in order to inform and extract industry data concerning total compensation strategy for the business area

  • Drive the development of HR plans – training, recruitment, retention, headcount, workforce planning in order to inform the business area’s senior management and central HR decision making

  • Coach and advise the business leaders to lead on engagement related activities in order to address problem areas and sustain positive engagement attributes to drive high levels of employee engagement.

  • Successful and intense cooperation with local Works Council :

  • Follow Social Calendar with staff representatives bodies (Works Council, Heath and Safety committee, unions) :

  • Annual negociations, reports…

  • Support and inform manager on the application of labour law

  • Supervision of Payroll and administration

  • Driving internal processes such as restructuring projects etc.

Requires skills, knowledge, experience

  • 3-5 years experiences on a similar position

  • Experience of working in a globally-integrated business, operating in a matrix environment

  • Act as an ambassador for One Pearson, actively seeking to implement globally consistent frameworks and toolkits

  • Proven track record of high performance / service delivery in HR operations and projects

  • Proven track record working with senior business leaders

  • Broad knowledge of labor and tax law, social security systems

  • Experience in independent cooperation with works councils and unions

  • Excellent English language skills
