About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our PSQ (Pearson Schools Qualifications) division trade channel team. We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic sales account executive who is looking to build account management experience and to play a pivotal role within our team driving revenue growth.

Remote-work Position:

This is a fully remote working position although there will be a requirement to travel to partners within the UK and to a Pearson London or Pearson Oxford office on occasion.

What the successful candidate looks like:

The successful candidate will be looking to build their account management experience - a positive, can-do attitude and a determination to succeed, is a must. They will be able to develop supportive and influential relationships with external key partners to enable mutually beneficial revenue growth. In addition to this they will be able to build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and departments internally. They will need to be commercially minded and understand the importance of data and use it as the basis for trend spotting and decision making. A keen customer focus is also required as is the desire to gain a solid understanding of our partners, their challenges, needs and their importance within the overall market. Demonstrating excellent attention to detail and being able to take ownership of issues through to resolution is crucial.

Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:

  • Exceed agreed annual revenue targets and KPIs.

  • Manage a portfolio of key B2B accounts and lead the sales relationship with key B2C retail partners.

  • Collaborate closely with the PSQ commercial and channels marketing executive to create and execute successful multi-channel trade sales and marketing plans for prescribed retail, wholesale and B2B specialist partners.

  • Drive the growth of overall revenue within existing channels and by identifying additional opportunities to market.

  • Compile monthly account level performance reports and use data to drive decision-making alongside presenting to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • Target and performance driven with a proven record of account growth and achieving results.

  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail - the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.

  • Think and work independently and taking responsibility for solving customer challenges.

  • Uses strong communication skills to not only influence customers, but also to develop a successful internal network.

  • A proactive decision-maker who considers commercial implications alongside customer need.

  • Good networking skills with a strong sense of teamwork and an ability to build influential relationships with both stakeholders at varying levels of seniority, and with external partners.

  • Experience of sales reporting and delivering powerful presentations.

  • Ability to use, collate and present data from multiple sources.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • A passion for learning when it comes to your own development.

  • Experience of the education print market via direct to institution and retail channels (not essential).

  • A positive and proactive attitude.
