SUMMARY
The Production Technician operates a variety of equipment used to produce print materials. Production Technicians receive instruction & leadership from Production Manager on routine work & assignments. Follows production schedule and adheres to all policies and is responsible for following safety practices & policies.
SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB
Provide quality products on routine work by following production schedule to meet Business & Customer requirements.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Must be 18 years old, machine safety requirement.
On the job training & Apprenticeship program during on-boarding process. (6 month-3-year program)
Skills/knowledge/abilities
Demonstrates strong mechanical, technical & trouble shooting skills.
Demonstrates a willingness to learn.
Knowledge of PC Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power-Point and Adobe Acrobat is helpful, but not required.
Experience working in printing or production environment is helpful, but not required
Job requires standing and walking throughout entire shift and lifting, up to 50 pounds.
Assists in the development of customer projects and proposals.
Records time and materials associated with completing jobs.
Read and understand schedules, job tickets.
Produces quality products as defined by the Business and Customer expectations.
Actively involved in annual preventative maintenance of equipment.
Provide feedback to management to improve processes, customer service and lower operating costs.
Perform basic lubrication and preventative maintenance for equipment.
Troubleshoot and fix routine equipment problems.
Must be flexible and open to changes in job responsibilities during shift.
Complete all paperwork, job tickets, checkbook, and quality signoffs.
Follows all department safety guidelines.
Makes frequent workplace improvements and participates in continuous improvement activities.
