Summary

The Manager Market Research is responsible for setting the strategies and managing a team of Market Research Analysts who define the market opportunities, marketing, and analysis/optimization of the organization's services and/or products which may include consumer and market insights, digital marketing, advertising, and analytics. The MRM may be allocated to focus on a particular component of the marketing life cycle and or channel. This is Senior/Management level position which requires expert knowledge and little to no instruction.

General Responsibilities

Responsibilities are applicable based on the position focus/channel

  • Direct a team of internal/external analysts who may or may not be also managing a team of analysts who:

  • Identify, analyze/execute new and potential product/services, markets, and advertising opportunities.

  • Collect and analyze data on established and prospective customers, competitors, and marketing channels/sources.

  • Develop reports that interpret consumer behavior, market opportunities/conditions, marketing results, trends, and investment levels.

  • Investigate and evaluate marketing methods, consumer insights, advertising channels, and their results in an effort to continually improve results.

  • Prepare and present materials/findings both internally and externally for the marketing focus/channel he or she supports.

  • Provide insights which facilitate the development of plans for partner promotion

  • Execute against partner marketing plans to deliver results that exceed defined objectives

  • Provide world class marketing client service management by creating synergies with our internal teams & Academic Partners which empower us to exceed our objectives.

  • Create buy-in from multiple constituents in a collaborative cross-functional environment

Qualifications

General Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent discipline OR appropriate combination of experience and education.

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive management positions working in a corporate environment with an emphasis in media and marketing.

  • Proven experience in digital media marketing for lead generation, channels, sources, best practices and KPI’s.

  • A demonstrated record of success in using data to drive business improvements

  • Sr. level position requires a high level experience in the following areas:

  • Specific knowledge of search engines and their ranking algorithms

  • Knowledge of SEO practice and methodology, including architectural and design competencies, content and writing knowledge; as well as off-page link and promotion understanding.

  • Expert understanding of SEO KPI and reporting/analytical tools Moz, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Majestic SEO, AWR, Screaming Frog, etc

  • Strong knowledge of Web Analytics applications like Google Analytics 360 and a/b testing applications like Optimizely, VWO, Hotjar, Optimize 360, etc.

  • Understanding of BI topics (data modeling, statistics, data architecture, etc.) and technologies (data visualization, warehousing)

  • Experience with the development, management, analysis, reporting and forecasting of digital media campaigns

  • Experience managing out-sourced vendors

  • Experience in marketing online education to students preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages a team of internal/external Managers and Analysts across multiple locations
