Pearson is constantly looking to add to our AMAZING team! We are actively searching for a detailed and highly organized Principal Analyst for our Sales Ops, Reporting and Analytics (R&A) CANADA team . One must not only thoroughly understand data, but can visualize how it all comes together for the business and effectively provide your expertise.

The overall responsibility of this role is to design, develop, implement, test, deploy and maintain business intelligence tools, reports, and dashboards. You will support all standard reporting, ad-hoc reporting, statistical analysis and benchmarking, forecasting, predictive modeling, and influence of operational optimization, transforming business reporting requirements into meaningful visualizations, KPIs and dashboards. You will be responsible for an efficient and effective communication stream within the team with minimum supervision.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements for reports and interactive dashboards

  • Develop, and support the development of reports and visualizations that address business needs

  • Perform data analysis to ensure on-going data integrity, quality and operational efficiency

  • Analyzing data with standard statistical methods, interpreting the results, and providing summary of data analyses

  • Adherences to publication approval standards for dashboard release reviews and provide feedback to help with process improvement

  • Disseminate information regarding tools, reports, or metadata enhancements

  • Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools

  • Maintain catalog of reports, templates, and other reusable knowledge assets

  • Discusses reporting, or information needs with stakeholders, strategic and business partners, and teams

  • Participate in ongoing decisions concerning data collections, data design, methodology, and data analysis

  • Works together with BI Mgr. that design and build data models and internal ETL-processes

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • In-depth experience in data reporting & analytics tools, process, methodologies and best practices

  • Knowledge and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts, and working knowledge of other related fields

  • Expert knowledge of Tableau development required; data management & reading code-huge plus!

  • Solid experience in building reports and dashboards with Tableau Desktop and administering Tableau Server – critical!

  • Strong, successful storytelling with data, data visualization design and visualization best practices

  • Knowledge in designing data models for optimal use for analytics

  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Solid time management skills - including ability to work well under a fast-paced high-pressure business environment, plan, set priorities, adapt to change, and meet established timelines

  • Ability to manage team deliverables in close alignment with overall departmental and corporate objectives

  • BA in Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education/work experience
