  1. To develop and maintain for the Educational Division a strong list, which is profitable and of high quality to ensure that Pearson Education stays ahead of competitors and becomes the market leader in the next three years.

  2. To ensure the efficient and timely publication of schoolbooks to make the best use of Pearson Education’s resources in producing high-quality products with authors to ensure customer satisfaction.

  3. To be responsible for handover of print ready files for printing as per project delivery schedule.

  4. To actively engage and produce content for the digital resources and ensure timely delivery.


  1. To help in the planning of the 3-year publishing programme in keeping with the market trends.

  2. To give insightful suggestions to increase the turnover of business and the market share of Pearson Education.

  3. To assist in the commissioning process and ensure quality texts are solicited and reviewed by experts

  4. Wherever possible liaise with the Author(s) and Editor(s), in response to feedback from reviewers, competition analysis and improve the quality of each manuscript with a distinct competitive advantage over other books.

  5. To rewrite and improve the quality of texts, wherever possible in liaison with the author(s) in response to feedback from reviewers and the study of competition.

  6. To ensure that each edited MS is of the highest quality and adheres to the content standards.

  7. To draw up schedules for every manuscript being handled in consultation with the Project lead and Publishing head, and to work within the stipulated time frame for delivery.

  8. To visualize the final product, and coordinate projects through the production process, liaising closely with Design and Production departments.

  9. To ensure that the final product is of the highest quality within the constraints of time and budget.

  10. To keep up-to-date with the latest developments and syllabi, and also with the relevant competition by talking to our customers, teachers and teacher trainers, and attending seminars, conferences, and book fairs.

  11. Prepare NBIs and Sales Briefs as requested, in consultation with Project leads and support product promotional activities.

  12. To supervise quality control at every stage of the Editorial and Production process.


  1. Good Postgraduate degree in English Language/Literature

  2. Minimum 5 years book publishing experience, preferably in K12 segment

  3. Experience of using computers with MS Word, Excel, Photoshop (and Indesign)

  4. Good visual awareness and presentation skills

  5. Good interpersonal skills

  6. Good time management skills
