JOB PURPOSE

With the supervision of the Team Lead, the Subject Matter Expert is accountable to deliver high quality, competitive, market-friendly print and digital products within the given timelines. The Subject Matter Expert is expected to adhere to Pearson’s specifications, style, standards and quality parameters and work in collaboration with other team members.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Development

a. Understanding the product specifications, subject pedagogy, and target audience

b. Evaluating and developing content, and editing the content where needed. Understanding all the components (both print and digital) of the assigned project.

c. Ensuring accuracy and bringing out zero-error products driven by innovation

d. Staying updated on developments in test prep publishing, government guidelines, and CBSE/ICSE board policies

2. Author and Vendor Management

a. Identifying suitable vendors and ensuring they deliver quality work within the given timelines

b. Negotiating prices and drawing up their agreements in coordination with the legal team

c. Collaborate with authors to complete project on time and within scope and budget; maintain positive relationship with authors and work closely with team to deliver content according to publishing plan

3. Cross-functional coordination

Working smoothly with different functions, such as rights and permissions, production, manufacturing, legal, sales and marketing throughout the duration of project

4. Customer experience

Visiting schools and customers for workshops, trainings and capturing market feedback

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  1. Master’s degree from a reputed university, proficiency in Chemistry as a subject

  2. 2+ years of experience in publishing, with minimum 1 year of experience in Testprep Publishing

  3. Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  4. Good verbal and written communication skills

  5. Strong team player

  6. Ready to adapt and eagerness to learn

  7. Capable of meeting deadlines
