Pearson C2-Supervisor Rights/Permissions in Noida, India

Primary Responsibilities includes managing the assigned publishing list ensuring rights compliance, working closely with our R&P Vendor partners for improvement and efficiencies, increasing business engagement and working towards enabling content reuse and supporting our D2C strategy. The Role will also support any special projects as required and any new Rights and Permissions business strategy goals.

Responsibilities:

· Primary contact on uses of third-party content for designated business(es) across activities and functions.

· Works closely with the business(es) to identify and address permission and permission coordination requirements for all functions and activities.

· Takes measures to ensure all business stakeholders are aware of and meet copyright/permission requirements regarding third-party use, working collaboratively and creatively to effect business-savvy best rights practices.

· Expert in systems scope/functionality, rights strategies and goals, and familiar with project objectives as well as the roles and processes that impact rights, to optimize permission work for efficiency, outcomes, and quality.

· Communicates, monitors and drives R&P expectations, standards, KPIs and SLAs with vendors/service center and business(es).

· Socializes Pearson content agreements, permission guidelines, rights /sourcing strategies and programs, and applicable corporate policies with vendors and business(es); ensures alignment with these.

· Ensures all rights management milestones fulfilled for projects over the entire content development/production workflow (initiate, plan, execute, control, close), working with portfolio and development/production teams, vendors, and/or content service center.

· Participates in pipeline planning to ensure sufficient, timely and appropriate plans and resources for upcoming projects.

· Develops and oversees project schedules and budgets.

· Proficient with technology, the manager sets up projects in IPM; initiates work with vendors; reviews and approves purchase requisitions; ensures correct Oracle project number is included; monitors payments and encashment to support timeliness and completion. Closes projects following closing checklist.

· Manages QA measures, including audit of tasks/procedures and project/rights records, to achieve optimal performance and data integrity. Prepares, issues and follow-ups on project scorecards.

· Negotiates where necessary with rights holders to obtain required rights to essential content.

· Escalates any rights issues, questions or risks they are unable to resolve to their R&P Director in a timely and fully informed way.

· Prepares monthly reports on schedule that reflect accurately the progress, issues, and risks of R&P across the business and projects. Participates in departmental meetings and events and contributes to team goals.

· Engages in or leads special projects or initiatives as required.

· Brings a can-do attitude that is solutions focused to work outside the box to present ideas on how current ways of working can be improved and how operational problems can be resolved.

· Is a team player that can evangelize the services of R&P as a proactive business partner

· Supervise and manage team resources, including hiring and firing, performance management and development with input from R&P Director

Qualifications – Internal

  • Bachelor's Degree with a min of 4-6 years job experience

  • Prior knowledge of Rights and Permissions preferred

  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills based on collecting and analyzing available, relevant, and reliable information, learning who to ask for opinions and input, and acting upon the analysis in a timely and effective manner

  • Strong leadership skills, including developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with others

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex programs with interrelated asset and timing dependencies

  • Takes initiative and leads change

  • Tech savy with interested in learning new rights management system and gaining expertise

  • Basic knowledge of office applications, particularly Microsoft
