Your Opportunity

We now have a newly created position for an experienced Partnership Development Manager, which offers an exciting opportunity to work across multiple sectors with those at the cutting edge of online education. You will be joining Pearson’s rapidly growing Virtual Learning division, tasked with expanding opportunities for lifelong learning through the delivery to market of a wide variety of flexible and high-quality educational experiences and qualifications. You’ll be working with the Head of Partnership Development (business acquisition) and other stakeholders within Pearson’s Virtual Learning division, to devise and implement a business development strategy that strengthens Pearson’s position as a leader in online and lifelong learning, expands our course portfolio in line with strategic goals, and delivers growth in terms of increased student enrolments and revenues.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development activity within a defined territory to secure, through the signing of new partnership arrangements, commercially attractive opportunities for Pearson to service the lifelong learning market.

  • Through prospecting and networking activity, build effective relationships with senior leaders across domestic and global universities, industry bodies, as well as alternative education providers.

  • Achieve signings targets relating to defined categories of course and course-provider, providing a large and growing pool of learning/educational products for Pearson to take to market.

  • Through these course and course-provider signings, enable Pearson colleagues in student acquisition to deliver increased course sales and significant revenue growth for the division.

Essential skills, qualifications, and experience

  • Minimum 8 years working with senior stakeholders in the Premium India Higher Ed or corporate learning sector.

  • Strong understanding of the India Higher Education landscape and regulatory environment.

  • Strong professional network, with contacts across corporate and education sectors

  • Strong interpersonal, customer relationship, and communication skills.

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding goals

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess the viability of new program offerings.

  • Able to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

  • Methodical and well-organized – able to manage complex processes with many moving parts

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualifications

Our Successful Candidate

We welcome applicants with significant experience in building business development plans, and successfully progressing opportunity pipelines, using CRM and forecasting tools as appropriate. You’ll demonstrate significant experience working with senior stakeholders in the Premium Higher Education or corporate learning sector and come with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, identifying key mobilizers building internal consensus within customers to drive to positive outcomes.

It would be an advantage to have an established professional network, with contacts across corporate and education sectors and you’ll need to demonstrate exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, along with strong influencing and negotiation skills. We are interested in your proven track record of achieving/exceeding business development goals.

This position is suitable for a strategic thinking professional; you’ll systematically solve problems and hypothesize possible customer pain points, expectations, and implicit needs. You’ll be methodical and well-organized and able to manage complex processes with many moving parts, making this is a unique opportunity for a creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial professional. Transform your expertise to a new level - we have many interesting and dynamic projects to look forward to in 2022, therefore now is the ideal time to join our Pearson family.
