Pearson B3-Royalties Testing Analyst in Noida, India

Role Overview and Purpose

The Royalties Testing Analyst role supports the Sr. Royalties Product Manager in assuring the quality of fixes for known defects & enhancements as part of the Global Rights & Royalties suite of projects/programs.

The Rights & Royalties teams have recently undergone significant transformation in both core systems, as well as the location and scale of the operational support teams. The group’s main objective continues to be the production of financially accurate and timely royalty statements. The Royalties Testing Analysts will need to hit the ground running, in a fast-paced & complex environment, to help ensure that existing hyper care support deliverables & milestones are achieved for the department. This will include performing quality reviews of expected functionality as the improvements flow through the standard development cycle within Global Rights & Royalties. The Royalties Testing Analyst will need to understand the functional requirements, develop Business test scripts, and administer a series of tests and evaluations that identify potential issues prior to general release.

This role will require keen attention to detail, as well as logical and critical thinking skills. It will be essential for this individual to have strong planning & organizational skills, and a background in accounting or royalties is a plus.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Reading and analysing application requirements and design documents.

  • Writing a variety of Test Plans based on functional requirements.

  • Collaborating with the development teams to ensure functional requirements are understood.

  • Understanding royalties sales data, royalty calculations & royalty products to support the full suite of testing

The role will report within the Global Rights & Royalties Program Management Office and be based in Noida.

  • The initial sharp learning curve to gain a comfort level with Rights & Royalties jargon, procedures & complexities

  • Working in a matrix and virtual environment

  • Working with a number of stakeholders: externally, internally and internationally

  • Working with a global customer base and different cultures

  • Providing Daily updates on bugs and quality issues in reporting data

  • Tracking defects using test management tools

  • Development of functionality tests.

  • Reviewing requirements, raising queries, interacting with Teams to understand the business process

Working Pattern / Hours

  • May be required to work UK or US hours, for better overlap with Development teams & Sr. Royalties Product Manager.

  • Remote work is generally acceptable, but it is expected that when needed, individuals will be easily able to work out of a central Pearson location.

Qualifications

Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years of testing experience in a heavy-volume sales, rights transaction and advanced transaction environment.

  • Adept at working at pace and under pressure, and in managing multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Ability to absorb large amounts of complex information and simplify communication depending on the audience (Business / Technology / Leadership)

  • Proficiency with Agile & Waterfall development processes

  • Awareness of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Ability to work in a team

  • Proficiency in document & report writing

  • Ability to both see the big picture and pay attention to detail

  • Strong Problem-solving skills

  • Proactive Thinking approach
