The purpose of this role is to support the Pearson Academic team in managing the routine activities such as maintenance of publishing data in internal business systems, data entry with a specific focus on Contracts and Royalties, conduct reveiws, manage reprint requests, manage payments. The incumbent will be responsible to maintain critical records in systems for the US HEd lists and owning the processes and tasks.
• Assist in the review process for new products . These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
o Sending out surveys
o Collating survey results
o Paying honorariums to survey participants
o Updating and maintaining a reviewer database
• Product Quality Control
o Submit reprint corrections
o Request ISBNs for new products
• Ensure product data integrity (ie follow product setup guidelines to make sure all data fields are correct and flowing to the appropriate catalogs)
• Author/Contributor support :
o Create purchase orders for contracted work
o Check status of payments with Accounts Payable group
o Ensure royalty information is in place
o Point person to ensure authors receive pre-revision materials (competitor's titles for review) and that post publication materials are received (completed copies of their text)
o Follow up on conference feedback
o Answering sales reps' and customers' questions (low-level questions such as identifying available resources for a title ("Are there powerpoints for this product?" Etc.)
o Candidate will tag the appropriate team member if a question is beyond their personal purview
o Timely responses to the sales team is key
Required Knowledge and Experience :
- Communication Skills
o Candidate should be able to communicate in a clear, professional and effective manner with team members, both internal and external.
o Candidate will interact with a number of external team members from survey participants, to reviews and authors and should be comfortable doing so.
o Candidate will be responsible for providing regular updates on their work to the team.
- Organization Skills
o Candidate should be able to track their completed tasks, as well as those in progress to ensure resolutions in a timely manner
- Prioritization Skills
o This role will introduce the candidate to a number of different workflows with varying degrees of priority. In conjunction with their team, the candidate will be expected to learn to evaluate the urgency of requests and prioritize their schedule accordingly.
o As part of a larger team, the candidate should maintain a positive, team-oriented outlook.
