Senior Product Manager, Direct to Consumer Division

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join a cross-functional team that has direct accountability for a portfolio of digital products serving over 5 million users a year, globally, with very aggressive growth targets. The Senior Product Manager is a key member of the product team managing Pearson+, our new flagship direct-to-consumer product at Pearson. At the intersection of business, technology, and user experience teams, your role spans many activities from strategic to tactical and provides important cross-functional leadership.

What You'll Do

  • As a member of a cross-functional team, collaborate with design, engineering, product peers, and product leadership to define the product strategy and roadmap

  • Lead specific initiatives and transform product strategy into well-articulated business requirements, as well as using qualitative and quantitative data effectively to inform product direction, prioritization, and success measurement

  • Serve as product owner for one or more distributed agile teams

  • Collaborate closely with offshore business analysts and engineering leads to ensure requirements are clearly defined including well-articulated business logic

  • Partner across the organization with product marketing, customer support, sales, operations, and domain leads to identify and build core capabilities, maximize the utility of features common to multiple stakeholders, and efficiently deliver functionalities critical to market success

What You Bring

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills- able to target messages to a variety of audiences with the appropriate level of depth

  • The technical and commercial acumen necessary to communicate what is possible and what will have the biggest impact on the business

  • Strong familiarity with technology and the experience and ability to shape effective prioritization and requirement specificity to usher product development through to completion

  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally, seeking win-win outcomes

  • Comfortable working with ambiguity – able to drive toward clarity

  • Experience with agile development processes and design thinking

  • Solid critical thinking skills

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
