The Technical Project Manager for Accessibility will help the Accessibility and Accommodations team to support the mission of the Accessibility Team in School.
The Technical Project Manager for Accessibility will manage the relationships between the Accessibility Team for Assessments and platform/product development teams within the School line of business. The Technical Project Manager will communicate technical requirements for product accessibility and track and manage the project scope and schedules for accessibility evaluations conducted by the Accessibility Team for Assessments. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for understanding and communicating technical accessibility capabilities and limitations within Pearson products, and will communicate with internal teams and clients about the technology tools that support learners with disabilities. The Technical Project Manager for Accessibility will provide guidance on the approaches for creating accessible assessments and assessment related materials. Major Responsibilities
Help product and platform owners design with accessibility in mind.
Maintain documentation about the accessibility features and accommodations available within Pearson solutions.
Capture testing scope and document test plans for product accessibility evaluations.
Plan, schedule, track and manage tasks related to the completion of product accessibility evaluations and resolution of issues reported.
Work with platform/product development teams to develop roadmaps and milestones related to developing accessible platforms/products.
Interpret accessibly guidelines and standards and explain those standards to others.
Advise on style requirements for creating accessible and collecting metadata related to the accessibility features of assessment content.
Create and maintain thorough documentation on the current accessibly capabilities of Pearson’s assessment products and services.
Develop and deliver accessibility related training and documentation.
Identify and mitigate risks related to the development of accessible products and services.
Support multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Serve as a subject matter expert on capabilities of online assessment products and how built-in accessibility features and third-party assistive technologies can be used to support the needs of learners with disabilities.
Support technical teams in implementing Pearson’s Accessibility Policy Initiatives.
Collaborate with contractors and vendors to manage scope of work.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is 85k-88k. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program. Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field required, or equivalent experience in the field of education or assessment Certification(s) or Required Training
Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) obtained through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) or the ability to obtain this certification within 1 year Experience
3-5 years of experience managing projects of a technical nature required.
Experience in the field of accessibility, information technology, or assessments preferred.
Special Knowledge and Skills
Functional knowledge of disability categories and the accessible materials and assistive technologies designed to support people with diverse needs
Understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Understanding of the software development life cycle preferred
Understanding of the assessment industry a plus.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
