We are looking for an experienced business leader to join Pearson VUE as the Vice President – Australia & South East Asia.
This role will report into the UK and be a part of a truly global team. In this role the VP Australia & SE Asia work closely with several, global cross functional teams including program management, proposal development, operations teams, legal, global business solutions, finance and HR as well as leading the local team to maintain and grow the Pearson VUE business in test delivery, test development, and licensing services with primary responsibility for the following.
This Vice President role for the regions of Australia and SE Asia is responsible for providing oversight to the business development and program management groups in relationship management, contract retention, and financial growth initiatives to expand the Pearson VUE business with existing accounts and new business prospects. They are also responsible for all regional budgets and all financial management. Working in a global matrix structure, they will act as the local representative for VUE in the region working in partnership with other Pearson divisions.
The VP Australia & SE Asia is primarily responsible to lead the strategic sales in Australia and SE Asia to achieve annual revenue plan goals through sales metrics, incentives, and performance plans. They will also be responsible to coordinate with other senior staff to ensure availability of appropriate products and tools, quality customer support, effective marketing, and other critical customer facing needs to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and renewal rates.
Responsibilities include :
Provide leadership to the Melbourne based team, perform regular Pearson VUE Corporate updates, business and policy guidance, defining local Pearson VUE policy
Understand and translate regional needs to guide and inform global business strategy
Anticipate regional needs in the assessment market and provide input to greater Pearson business
Financial management of the Australia & SE Asia budget and P&L
Identify new business opportunities in the educational assessment market
Work closely with prospects to develop return on investment proposals for the benefit of the customer and Pearson
Negotiate contracts with new accounts
Attend industry conferences or trade shows, as assigned, or use personal network or industry intelligence to gather valuable information for business development
Define marketing plans and work with global marketing teams to enable greater awareness of Pearson VUE in the region.
Be aware of all contract or statement of work scope changes and where appropriate negotiate additional compensation for the changes
Significant experience in senior leadership roles, business development, account management, or a related area
Licensure, certification and/or large-scale assessment experience preferred
Knowledgeable of educational testing business
Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between sales and marketing, business operations, program management, and technology
Excellent business writing and proposal writing skills
Exceptional relationship management skills
Ability to manage and lead in a busy and sometimes stressful environment
Willingness to travel for up to 40% of the calendar year
Ability to work across global time-zones
