We are seeking an experienced technical business analyst to support the implementation of our Digital Learning Applications. These are significant projects and Pearson requires a Business Analyst to support the scoping and definition of the applications and capabilities required by the business.

The Technical Business Analyst will work with the project team, product manager and business SMEs to define and document business and technical requirements, in the form of Users Stories. The business analyst will then work with the solution architects and Pearson global development teams to define a solution that meets the requirements.

You will provide regular updates to the Project Manager and Product Manager and ensure activities are aligned with project objectives and key stakeholder expectations, as well as flagging risks and escalating issues and decisions in line with the governance structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining project scope

  • Gathering requirements by facilitating discussions and workshops with key business stakeholders

  • Defining requirements by documenting detailed user stories

  • Translating requirements to the team by engaging with the development teams to present the user stories and ensure they are understood

  • Supporting the project manager with planning and scheduling

  • Assisting with test planning, test scripts and execution of testing

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years commercial experience in developing business and technical requirements for software development projects.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple activities, use own initiative/work proactively and ability to prioritise workload

  • Proven experience working on Agile projects, documenting user stories

  • Education Industry knowledge/experience
