Pearson Product Marketing Manager in Melbourne, Australia

This role is within the Digital Marketing Team in the Pearson Online Learning Services division in Australia. Pearson Online Learning Services partners with universities to provide a range of products and services to meet the ever-growing demand for online learning. Following a white label model, the Digital Marketing team provide high-quality experiences through developing, planning, and executing student acquisition and retention strategies for the university programs we partner with universities to deliver.

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and creative product marketer to develop insights-led product positioning for each of our university programs and play a key role in how we launch new programs to market. This person will be responsible for deeply understanding customer needs, the market and competitor offerings to develop product positioning and messaging, communicate it to internal teams to operate from and be accountable for continuous improvement to ensure sustainable long-term growth. This role is partner facing and requires collaboration with internal and external teams and exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and people skills. This role would suit a strategic, confident, and inquisitive marketer with experience in turning impactful customer, competitor, and market insights into actionable opportunities, with a passion to operate in a highly competitive landscape.

Primary responsibilities;

  • Collaborate with colleagues throughout the product development process to understand the product and who it is intended for

  • Source and synthesise qualitive and quantitative insights to deeply understand customer needs, the market and competitor offerings

  • Use these insights, to develop competitive product positioning and messaging to reach and communicate the product value effectively to the target audience

  • Champion the strategy developed and communicate this effectively to internal teams responsible for creating the go to market activities required to bring it to life

  • Accountable for continuous improvement to ensure competitiveness and long-term sustainable growth.

  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the market, competitor offerings and target audiences for each product

Selection criteria

  • A marketing professional with demonstrated experience as a product marketer and skills in developing positioning, messaging and go to market strategies for B2C products and services

  • Proven strategic, analytical, and quantitative skills with an ability to develop insights and strategy.

  • 7+ years' experience in digital marketing, product marketing, and/or advertising

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising or equivalent.

  • Developed internal and external stakeholder management.
