As Pearson University Partnerships collaborate with leading universities in Australia to deliver fully online courses, the Market Development Manager is a key role that is responsible for identifying and securing new revenue opportunities for existing and emerging services to grow the University Partnerships business.

This role will be responsible for conducting a thorough market analysis to identify the key customer segments and stakeholders in the Higher Education and Corporate sectors that align with Pearson’s existing and potential service capabilities.

This role will then be responsible for developing relationships with the identified stakeholders and progressing opportunities through a sales strategy and pipeline with the outcome resulting in high value long term agreements in alignment with business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify key opportunities and stakeholders in the Higher Education and Corporate sectors that align with Pearson’s portfolio of services

  • Identify and engage with key executive stakeholders to develop strategic, long term relationships to explore opportunities, conduct needs analysis and understand their strategic vision

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of institutions’ business strategies, values, challenges, market dynamics and political landscape and apply to business development plans

  • Lead effective negotiations to deliver solutions that meet all parties strategic and commercial objectives

  • Analyse pipeline information and other sales intelligence in order to prioritise activities

Qualifications

Selection Criteria:

  • Partnerships and Business Development experience requiring the management of numerous, executive and senior level stakeholders

  • Receiving primary responsibility/accountability for completing tasks that might place heavy demands on one's time and involvement

  • Demonstrated success in a sales environment

  • Excellent communication skills including negotiation and influencing

  • Frequent interstate travel required
