Pearson Unbundled Learning Services is a new team within our APAC University Partnerships (UP) Division. This team will be responsible for leading the activities driving our custom learning offerings for clients across the APAC region.
We have a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for a Custom Learning Design Lead. This role will be responsible for leading and managing a project team of learning design professionals in the successful completion of client learning design projects.
Applying the relevant design models and processes, you will use your highly developed digital education and learning design skills to work with the client to create a project brief that fits the agreed specifications and outcomes for the project. You will then act as the primary client contact for the project, to ensure that the work required for each project is delivered on time, to the required quality standard and within the project brief.
This will include:
Acting as key client liaison for all learning design projects, including during progress meetings and presentations both before and during project execution.
Preparing project briefs for professional staff and 3rd party suppliers or vendors working on the project.
Providing feedback and coaching/mentoring project team members to ensure required tasks are completed on time and to the quality required.
ProjectManaging the detailed learning design and development activities, timelines and resources as required within each project, ensuring these are reported back to other members of the project team and coordinating these tasks with other project activities.
Reviewing and evaluatingthe quality and value of vendor proposals and estimations.
An undergraduate qualification in Instructional/Learning Design, Education or related field. Equivalent years of education and successful work experience in Learning Design or another closely related field, with ID/LD certification, will be considered.
At least 2-years experienceleading small L&D projects and learning design teams
Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and developing online and/or blended learning in the post-compulsory education or corporate sectors.
Knowledge of pedagogical and andragogical learning principles and other notable learning design philosophies, strategies and theories, and the ability to apply those concepts.
Ability to articulate learning objectives that are practical, focused, concise and measurable.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially coaching and communications skills, including being able to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms and encouraging others to learn new and/or different ways of doing things.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with SME’s, professional staff, project managers, 3rdparty vendors and collaborate both in person and long distance.
Analytical, logic and problem–solving skills for analysing and identifying user needs, proposing solutions and logically organising complex information.
