As Pearson University Partnerships collaborate with leading universities in Australia to deliver fully online courses, the Head of Partnership is a key role within the organisation that is responsible for establishing and managing the relationships and business strategy with named university partners as well as responsibility for the provision of services to that partner from the University Partnerships services portfolio. The Head of Partnership will spend time establishing alignment with key university stakeholders for the partnership, as well as identifying and driving growth. The Head of Partnership acts as the head of a matrix based operational organisation for the partnership for which they have responsibility, and in this capacity, oversees the successful delivery of acquisition services, student learning and academic services, including research, marketing, student recruitment and retention, course design and development, academic delivery, career services, welfare and counselling, professional development and change management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish strong relationships that support change, drive growth and influences outcomes with University Executives

  • Lead governance framework implementation through establishment of required documentation, meaningful agendas and presentations and attend meetings to produce productive engagement and positive outcomes followed by action, to effectively move partnership strategy forward

  • Establishing, articulating, and leading execution of strategy for the partnership

  • Collaborate with internal senior leadership to set direction for the partnership, including but not limited to Head of Learning Futures, Head of Research & Insights and Commercial Services Director to inform and execute product innovation and partnership growth strategy

  • Effective delivery of Pearson services within the Partnership to enable return on capital investment. Informal leadership of functional delivery team through collaboration with function leads in the matrix organisation structure


  • Previous work experience in senior Sales or Account Management to large organisations requiring the management of numerous, executive and senior level stakeholders

  • Receiving primary responsibility/accountability for completing tasks that might place heavy demands on one's time and involvement

  • Willingness to consider change and to adapt; modification of job and roles within an organization to adapt to change.

  • Emphasis on asking questions and challenging the norms and standard procedures to achieve breakthrough advances

  • Frequent interstate travel required
