Pearson Custom Learning is a new team within our APAC University Partnerships (UP) Division. This team will be responsible for leading the activities driving our custom learning offerings for clients across the APAC region.

We have a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for a Head of Custom Learning to join Pearson. This role will lead a team of learning design and development professionals charged with successful completion of client learning design and development projects. Applying your highly developed educational and learning design and leadership skills you will work with your team and key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that client projects are appropriately scoped, costed and delivered according to the agreed business and educational outcomes. You will oversee and progress development and delivery of learning projects for each client from pre-contract to completion stages, and you will drive all operational aspects of service delivery in the Custom Learning Business, with a strong focus on client engagement and satisfaction alongside learning impacts. Key activities will include:

  • Forming and maintain effective relationship with key client contacts during projects to ensure reporting, ongoing leadership, decision making and any escalation processes are efficient and well managed.

  • Establishing Project Governance, Reporting and Team structures.

  • Preparingand deliveringprojectpresentations,costings and associated details to support client proposals and tender responses.

  • Managingscope and change requests with clients, including collaborating with relevant colleagues and stakeholders for contractual requirements. 

  • Establishing and managing financial requirements for each project including, P&L requirements and authorising vendor & contractor invoices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of5years’ experienceleadingteams of Learning Design, Development professionals

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience planning& coordinatingLearning and Development projects. 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing online and/or blended learning in the post-compulsory education and corporate sectors.

  • A postgraduate qualification in Instructional/Learning Design, Education or related field. Equivalent years of education and successful work experience inEducationDesign or another closely related field, with ID/LD certification, will be considered.

  • Postgraduatequalification inbusiness or management related field

  • Excellent writing, communication, leadership & commercial acumen skills 

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues at all levels, including clients and external stakeholders up to executive/senior management level, subject matter experts, professional staff, project managers, 3rd party vendors

  • Highly skilled in collaboration and facilitation with stakeholders, both in person and working remotely.

  • Knowledge of pedagogical and andragogical learning principles and other notable learning design philosophies, strategies and theories, and the ability to apply those concepts.

  • Analytical, logic and problem–solving skills for analysing and identifying user needs, proposing solutions and logically organising complex information.
