Position Summary :

The Program Manager is responsible for managing the end to end delivery lifecycle of business projects to deliver business solutions covering requirements gathering, business change management and transition, technical solution design and development, test and acceptance, and implementation and optimization. Job Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To :

  • Manage end to end delivery lifecycle of business projects to deliver business solutions covering early business engagement to scope ideas and define the solution and project delivery organization, requirements gathering, business change management & transition, technical solution design and development, test and acceptance, implementation & optimization, and benefit realization (benchmarking/tracking) to project objectives

  • Facilitates estimation of project timeline and effort with workstream leads (subject matter experts)

  • Actively challenges and refines estimates based on experience and domain knowledge; additionally, seeks peers reviews with external (non-project related) resources to validate estimates & delivery approach

  • Responsible for making decisions and final recommendations; gaining final ratification from project sponsor and steering group

  • Effectively leads the project to deliver the solution and business benefits. Has and acts with full accountability for successful project delivery, and with full ownership of resources (e.g. performance) within the scope of the project

  • Defines and owns initiative(s) to develop the project management practice

  • Serves as project manager of new solutions with business transformation impacting 3 business functions

  • Implements new solutions (green field) to transform business areas, engaging with new vendors

  • Tracks budget and spend

  • Identifies commercial impacts and constraints of project delivery (balancing business need vs technical solution) and seeks authorization and agreement on impacts

  • Responsible for proposing solutions to major issues on the project and seek acceptance from project sponsor and steering group

  • Manages the project to the agreed approach and solution and acts with full accountability for successful project delivery and with full ownership of resources (e.g. performance) within the scope of the project

  • Proposes changes to the project approach within agreed tolerances impacting timelines and budgets

  • Leads, supports, and motivates project delivery team and embraces diversity

  • Contributes to defined initiatives to develop the project management practice; owns part of the delivery plan to implement changes / improvements to the project management practice

  • Participates in group workshops to generate ideas and plan the implementation of team initiatives

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent, required

  • 5 years of prior project management experience with teams of up to 10 resources

  • Strong business change experience

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to make timely decisions independent of senior management involvement or ratification

  • Strong facilitation skills

  • Experience managing large scale project budgets (up to $10M)

  • Background in Information Technology strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and see to completion

  • Ability to positively influence peers and project team, sponsor, and steering group

  • Confidently respond to and manage conflict

  • Proactively escalates ongoing issues that negatively impact project progress

  • Effectively translate project delivery speak to business terminology to promote business buy-in and understanding

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous consulting experience

  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred

  • Proficient in tools required to manage complex projects
