The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will form a key part of the Reporting Centre of Expertise. This will involve working with a wide range of stakeholders to assist in delivering best-in-class reporting throughout Pearson. Taking a key role in operationalising and continuously improving our Financial Reporting and will be responsible for designing, creating, maintaining, and improving our dashboards and reporting metrics.
This role is key to influencing critical business decisions by producing clear metric analysis and designing of reports that the business can then make decisions on.
The key responsibilities include:
Analysing data and trends to define metrics and identify improvement opportunities
Understand the tools, end to end, in order to develop custom reporting that will vary in frequency for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting
Maintaining, reviewing, and analysing data, tables, and reports for inconsistencies, troubleshoot data integrity issues and develop clean-up strategy if needed
Preparing concise, comprehensive, and level-appropriate reports and dashboards across all disciplines
Become a trusted adviser to business users in all aspects of the ERP system
Regularly review processes and procedures and suggest and implement improvements where applicable
Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Essential Skills /Experience:
· Previous experience in a finance role.
· Experience using accounting ERP packages (Oracle Preferred).
· Experience of BI reporting packages (e.g. Oracle BI, SAP Business Objects, Cognos BI).
· Highly literate with technology and data, and a strong interest to combine your finance skills with technology.
· Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (if statements, vlookups, pivot tables, etc). Likely to be tested at an interview.
· Strong data analytics and data storytelling skills.
· Ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders within a global shared service environment.
· Demonstrable track record of problem-solving.
· Oracle experience would be highly advantageous.
· Basic understanding of accountancy
· SQL knowledge
