Pearson Talent Acquisition Partner in Madrid, Spain


This is a newly created 12-month role that will support the English Language Learning division in the realizations of its growth plans. The role will report to the Director of HR within the English Language Learning Division and have a strong link to both, the divisional and geographical peer groups. In this new moment for Pearson as we pivot our business, this is a unique opportunity to help us accelerate the growth in ELL and achieve our ambition to deliver revenues of $1bn over the next several years. This role will be important in ensuring that the business workforce planning is aligned throughout this journey and our people recruitment processes are smoothly executed. You will be deeply experienced in driving value and putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking to hire a customer centric Talent Acquisition Partner to be accountable for the delivery of recruitment services to our English Language Division. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in an agency/private sector to join our team.

You will be responsible for recruitment strategies through active partnerships with hiring teams and candidate engagement to drive quality and impactful hiring experience. You will use your outstanding relationship building skills to form strong partnerships with stakeholders and manage all aspects of the business area's recruiting strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders including senior management to develop recruitment strategies and solutions for critical roles

  • Understand hiring requirements, review job descriptions and work on sourcing strategies to identify potential candidates, using multiple channels including job portals, internal database and social media platforms

  • Identify market trends and best practices to influence business decisions around external talent attraction

  • Guide Hiring Managers on process and best practice as well as influence hiring decisions

  • Improve candidate, new hire and hiring manager experience

  • Use data to understand trends in the organization and the external workforce market and proactively propose initiatives that will address the needs of the organization in terms of employer branding and talent attraction

  • Focus on continuous improvements to increase hiring process efficiency

  • Understand workforce metrics and recruitment needs and ensure alignment between our job criteria and the workforce market supply

  • Create recruitment ads and actively promote job openings to identify the right candidates

  • Conduct sourcing and outreach campaigns to proactively promote our openings to qualified talent

  • Conduct interviews as requested and assist with review, evaluation and selection of hires.

  • Work with various IT systems/ tools to track and report recruitment metrics and status

  • Promote a culture of partnership, teamwork, innovation and diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Participate and champion a highly collaborative, customer-centric, data-driven culture that challenges norms with a bias to action; support diversity & inclusiveness of thoughts, experiences, and approaches to solve issues

  • Promote DE&I principles in recruitment to increase diverse representation and create an inclusive culture

  • Support, plan and actively advocate Pearson’s diversity goals and initiatives

Candidate profile:


  • Significant experience in full-lifecycle recruitment (previous experience in executive/corporate recruitment will be highly regarded)

  • Diverse experience gained in either an in-house or agency environment working across various international markets

  • Great track record with generalist in recruiting and good experience in technology related roles

  • Keen eye towards TA metrics and data, both to self-manage and to facilitate empirical, data-driven conversations

  • Identify market trends and best practices to influence business decisions around external talent attraction

  • Exposure to agile working in a global environment

  • Able to establish and build strong relationships with respective HR Business Partners and key stakeholders including the senior leadership

  • Strong ATS Management experience

  • Previous experience in project resourcing for significant growth will be highly regarded

  • Results-driven and relentless in achieving as well as exceeding goals, effectively exercising pragmatism when required, to deliver outcomes

  • Proven track record with large scale recruitment initiatives

  • Experience in reporting on metrics and KPIs for talent acquisition goals and process improvements

  • Very accustomed to managing a high level of ambiguity across geographies, markets, products and services

  • Experience in working with cross-functional diverse teams

  • Demonstrates strong resilience and tenacity with highly effective influencing, persuasive and negotiating skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Enthusiastic, passionate, and innovative; thrives on thinking outside of the box to create new best-in-class experiences

  • Action-oriented with a “roll up your sleeves approach”

  • High degree of emotional intelligence; the ability to understand, use, and manage own emotions in positive ways to communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict ability to effectively handle stressful situations

  • Demonstrated ability with the Microsoft suite of tools including Teams, Office etc. Good experience with reporting tools, excel, database systems and HRIS systems

Education, Qualifications & Training

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, HR and/or Business-related disciplines or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in Spanish and English language
