The Partnership Director will serve as the key point person and liaison for operational activity between Pearson and Academy of Pop (AOP).

Academy of Pop is a new entertainment driven performing arts learning platform that will offer innovative coaching from world-renowned instructors and provide performers of all levels with the opportunity to watch, participate, and progress within a passionately engaged global community.

Location is remotely from Los Angeles, California.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Identify connections between Pearson capabilities and AOP needs, and translate those opportunities into new points of collaboration

  • Work with AOP and Pearson to prepare short-term and long-term strategic roadmaps for the partnership and enable the team to over-deliver on expected results

  • Lead multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, ensuring that execution remains on track and is aligned to agreed-on goals

  • Monitor business processes and quickly implement changes where necessary to improve efficiency

  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between key stakeholders across Pearson and AOP

  • Work with Finance/Legal to ensure Pearson support to AOP is defined and costed in line with contract

  • Formulate, track, and report on key business metrics to internal stakeholders

Required Skills, Experience, and Competencies

  • Media / entertainment experience preferred (e.g., music/TV/production)

  • Strong project management experience

  • Comfortable operating with high levels of ambiguity in a start-up environment and willing to jump in and be a strong team player

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of and relationships within Pearson

  • Able to communicate well with people from multiple functional backgrounds, including creative, technical, operational, and financial

  • High level of comfort with ambiguity and juggling multiple projects

  • Demonstrated business acumen, operational abilities, and analytical skills

  • Passionate about learning and the arts

  • Capable of working across teams and all levels of management to influence outcomes, increase collaboration, and build relationships

  • Strong commitment to timelines, accuracy, and professionalism
